An imposing castle; even the ruined sections give you an excellent understanding of its history. Visited yesterday afternoon with our usually boisterous dog. He loved exploring as much as we did and although I was using a stick I managed to get around the site due to sturdy handrails and sensible steps. We spent a lovely afternoon here and the scenery is wonderful; The car parking fee is taken off your entrance fee to the Castle - so a very reasonable cost. The staff in the shop weren't just knowledgeable about the Castle and their products, they were also very kind and approachable. A bowl for dogs to drink out of was appreciated; the doggy treats they keep behind the counter for well-behaved dogs even more so. Highly recommended and a must if you have inquisitive children (and/or dogs).
