Really liked the audio guide, fun as well as informative. The castle itself is probably one of the best preserved I have been to.

I went here while on holiday with young kids. If you have older kids or are adults then you would probably enjoy it more. Feel it was a bit pricey for what you actually see as not much open to the public and it is basically a ruin. Put it this way spend the extra few quid and go to Alnwick.

We found it pretty amazing that this castle could still have original structures from so early in the time.
The Keep is very well maintained, and the audio guide explains quite a bit of the history of this castle that overlooks the town.
King David I gifted this castle to his son, Henry, in 1124.
The castle managed to survive a seige by Robert the Bruce, and it was once owned by Henry VIII.
Plenty of history in one interesting castle.

A favourite with our family as we live just a few miles away! Must have visited dozens of times but never fails to enthral. Grandchildren love the numerous events put on by English Heritage.

Warkworth Castle is a one that you should make an effort to go and visit. Ther is enough of the original left for you to really appreciate what it must have been like. Some of the rooms are pretty much as they would have been and the castle enjoys some impressive views out to sea.
