We had a fantastic time at Casa Rural la Cascaras. It is clean and well equipped. Best of all it is located in the village centre of Tejeda, well placed for walks or just a leisurely stay in a tranquil spot.
The accommodation is very homely and has a typical Canarian decor. The rooms are large and can easily accommodate 5-6 people. But we have the whole place to ourselves as a couple :-)
The accommodation has electric heating, which comes in handy for the winter months. There is a huge terrace off the kitchen with great mountain views. We had breakfast there every morning. However as the terrace is somewhat north facing, it doesn't really get the sun. Despite this, it is still pleasant to sit in. Maybe we were lucky, despite being here in winter, the temperature is a mild pleasant 12 degree.
The kitchen is somewhat small but very well equipped. It has a four rings gas hob, a fridge, coffee machine, kettle and juicer.
In summary our stay has been very pleasant. There was a little miscommunication- lost in translation I guess- regarding our check in time but this didn't bother us too much. The owner Carlos has been helpful and prompt in his email correspondence. We never met him. Instead we were shown around by a lovely lady called Angela. Please bear in mind that the correspondence is in Spanish (not English). Despite my 'broken' Spanish we managed it between us. Angela was friendly and helpful. I will recommend this who wish to stay in Tejeda.
