No this is not a soup, this is the real McCoy... Thick with fresh seafood, with toasted ciabatta bread on the side, and of course if seafood is not to liking of all your guests, then there are plenty of options, just come hungry the potions are just right after a day out on the Sounds.

All the mussels (moules) you can eat. Take a tip from the French and eat them with chips (frites). This cute little cafe does mussel kitsch to perfection.

It was my wifes birthday so I wanted to do something a little different and special for her. She loves seafood so I decided to drive from Nelson to Havelock to have lunch at the Mussel Pot.

We both loved the place, the food and the service were all excellent. The restaurant looks very nice with all the natural wooden tables, chairs and floors and it was spottlessly clean. The wait staff were very friendly and and efficient and very attentive. The best though was the meals they were so very delicous. We will definately be dining here again soon.

If you like mussels you will love this place. We had an excellent meal, good price and large portions. Who could ask for more.

If you are not into mussels there are plenty of alternatives on the menu. Highly recommended.

the John Dory fish n chips was juicy and succulent, and the steamed mussel pot was brill. We chose the corriander, chilli, coconut milk sauce, and the kick from the chilli was subtle and just right. A very nice lunch indeed.
