Sunday midday, looking for somewhere to eat with friends in Cagli, two very hungry 9 y.o. with us.
In the main piazza they suggest to to try Osteria Nani and it's been the best suggestion I've been given in a long time.
The owners are very nice and welcoming, the place is modern but warm and the other customers are happy with the lunch they just finished and they feel comfortable enough to be willing to share the experience.
The menu states: Poche cose ma fresche e bio (Few things but fresh and organic) and we already love this place! Besides most of the dishes in the menu there's the name of the producer or the meat and they write "bio" (orgnic) where the ingredients are all organic. Everything on the menu looks gorgeous.
We choose two different first courses, ravioli with tomato sauce for the girls and passatelli (a kind of pasta that is made with bread crumbs instead of flour) with artichokes, veggies and pecorino di fossa. They suggest that since the girls are hungry we may want to try the fried potatoes and artichokes and the olive all'ascolana, we agree and we are served a piping hot plate of deliciousness.
First courses follow and they are absolutely perfect, we still have a little space for desserts and we share a good crostata and hazelnut tiramisú cake and an outstanding star-anise panna cotta.
There's a tiny patio with 4 tables for 2
