We’ll be back!
To La Muraglia, that is.
Due to some physical/ personal conditions, we decided not to book for more than 8 days and actually that turned out to be the only disadvantage of this trip; We really should have stayed longer.
Mid-September appears to be a perfect time of the year for people who do not have to adapt to school vacations.
The weather is still wonderful, not too warm for a day trip and warm enough for a lazy afternoon at the amazing swimming pool.
After a somewhat exiting and tiring drive through the darkness of Sicily, we arrived in the middle of the night and despite of the late hour, Gisella’s welcome was warm and friendly and she took all the time to introduce us to our gorgeous, clean and more than well utilized room.
Next morning, when we opened our doors for the first time, we were amazed by the beauty of La Muraglia and its surroundings.
After an abundant and very tasteful breakfast, Gisella again took plenty of time to introduce us to the area, some nice restaurants and of course the local supermarket, which sells some really lovely food, also ‘take-away’, which is super tasteful and easy to prepare in the cozy kitchen, where most of the evenings, some of the guests gathered around spontaneously to join each other for dinner. (!)
Pizza night is a MUST, as in you ‘must’ save some room for it in your holiday planning as well as in your stomach. ;-)
The hospitality and kindness of Gisella and her family is exceptional and they all made us feel very welcome and ‘at home’. Everything was comfortable, clean, neat, just great!
There is a lot to see and to visit in the area (Noto, Ragusa, the beaches…), so we know for sure; We will return! In fact, we already started saving up and with every Euro we drop in our piggy bank, La Muraglia ‘sounds’ nearer and nearer.
Ciao Gisella, Emanuele, Carmelo e Davide. A presto!
