Went with our baby and 4 year old for a meal on a Friday night. Some of the other diners were quite friendly but we tend to find that people are with our happy little people.
There was no hand pull beer on. We went into the restaurant and weren’t really sure if we should wait to be seated or find a table and the staff seemed to not pick up on this so we found a table and sat down. We ordered the pizza that was not home made and the fish and chips that were below standard at best and even after asking for tea with the fish we had to ask for it at then end. Waited too long and left without even having it. The child’s burger was cheap and rubbery and our son couldn’t eat it. The restaurant wasn’t even half full!

Not a place we would go to again.

As part of our wowcher deal we dined in the Duke William,
The pub is clean and tidy and all the staff were welcoming and friendly,
The drinks are extensive and great value for money,
We dined and had a bottle of meal as part of our stay and the food was fantastic! The waitress was absolutely fantastic, so nice and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable,
Was a little quiet for a Saturday evening but we had a great time nonetheless!

Absolutely disgusting place, food is microwaved, wine is cheap, the locals are not friendly. this is probably the worst pub I have visited that I can remember.
the restaurant was empty and now we know why.
Will I return, definitely not.
I think the people who have reviewed this as a good eaterie must be the 10 locals that stand at the bar

Went for a meal last Friday with friends. The menu was varied and reasonably priced. We opted for the Friday special, £5 for fish chips and peas, bread and butter and a cup of tea! The food was good and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I will definitely go again.

We attended the carol service today at Haxey church with a relative who had booked our Sunday Lunch at The Duke William. I decided on roast beef from the carvery which was of good quality the accompaniments were again very good. We were served by a very efficient young waitress who appeared to take great pride in her job. On receiving the bill I had to take a second look, great value will definitely return.
