This attractive hotel is stunningly located, perched on the edge of a plunging canyon in the Jebel Akhdar. The rooms and facilities reflect the standard of a five-star hotel, with a well-appointed spa and amazing infinity pool.
However, when we visited all guests on half-board were required to take dinner in La Maison restaurant, which offers buffet service reminiscent of an all-inclusive wristband resort. Cheap ingredients had been tossed into one-pot casseroles and curries (presumably to keep costs down) and there was no a la carte offer. This was disappointing - guests are essentially paying a five-star price to eat in a three-star buffet. Breakfast was a similar affair. With so few guests a more attentive, a la carte style service for both meals would have better reflected the price of this stay and been more in keeping with the otherwise excellent experience.More
