After weeks of research, we decided on the Turks and Caicos Club and could not have been happier with our decision. The hotel is beautiful and it was perfect for us. We loved being in a smaller hotel and away from the large resorts. For the first few days, I felt like we never saw anyone. I finally asked Myra who works at Simba if we were the only ones there and she said there were 10 rooms booked and 21 guests. It has the feel of staying at a beach house more than a hotel. Rebecca the owner was wonderful. All of the staff were great (We loved Rebecca, Abdul, Rog, Carlton and Hendrika). They are not in your face all of the time, but always there for anything you need. But, if you are someone that likes to stay in Ritz Carlton, then yes, you would be disappointed. This is not a high-end luxury hotel, that is just not the point. We were asked several times a day on the beach if we needed anything from the bar or restaurant. We used the snorkel gear a few times and the kayaks. We stayed in a one bedroom ocean front suite on the 2nd floor. The room was beautiful and huge and it does look exactly like the photos on the hotel website. They knew it was our anniversary and had a bottle of champagne and glasses chilling on our arrival. The room was clean, kitchen nicely equipped and there was a washer and dryer, which we were not expecting. The bathroom was spacious and while it was not luxurious, it was more than adequate. The hotel grounds were nice, the pool at first glance seemed small, however, we never saw anyone using it so we always had it to ourselves when we used it. The beach is very nice and wide and the walking distance to the reef was only a few minutes. The free breakfast is a nice touch. The variety is lacking, but what they serve is good and more than enough food each morning. We did not use the gym at all so I can't comment on it. The bottom line is we really enjoyed the hotel, it was total relaxation, we would stay there again and had no complaints whatsoever.

We stayed at the Turks and Caicos Club for one week in unit 12, which is an ocean front front one bedroom unit. We have traveled extensively throughout the Carribean and Mexico and found this unit and hotel to be exceptional. Although it boasts that it is a small hotel, I never found myself to be overwhelmed by it's claims. Meaning..it was quite friendly when you when it wanted it to be and quite private at other times.

Check in was quite seamless. In fact, they were a little worried about us since had decided to stop at the grocery on our way from the airport to the resort. They made us a cold rum punch, gave cool towels and took us straight to 'tour' our suite. Abdoul was quite nice and proficient introducing us to Myia, who runs the breakfast restaurant and lunch/bar restaurant along the way. The bar/restaurant closes at 4:00 p.m. so we were unable to try that portion of the facilities.

Our room or I guess I should say suite was just beautiful. More space than we would ever need with a full kitchen, washer/dryer, eating area inside and outside, living area with tv/vcr/dvd, work space for computer, and separate bedroom and bathroom areas. You have to put your room key into a slot just inside the front door to turn on the airconditioning...which I didnt mind at all. I did mind, however, that the thermostat was locked and therefore made me hostage to a pre-determined temperature when we were in the room.

The pool area is just beautiful. Looks just like the photos. The included breakfast is just off the pool and makes a nice setting. We worked out many days in the gym which is really quite nice. You need to sign up for a key at the front desk to use it but they will be let you keep the same key for the entire week.

The water in the bathroom can have a bit a funky smell to it, but that is just the island. They provide you with nicest smelling shampoo, soap and conditioner! You soon forget everything after a few deep inhalations.

The towels are soft and are changed twice daily, if needed. The sheets are a very high count, so soft and smell so clean and so fresh. The elevated bed has a mattress that is firm without being hard..we slept great! Three celing fans in the unit to keep the air moving.

No huge problems with bugs, although I am quite careful about applying bugspray just before sundown...they never seem to bother my husband, the lucky devil.

We made dinner in our suite one night. There arent any grills for use on the property. Ate most of our meals at the resort next door, Somewhere, at Coral Gardens. Our resort provided a bit of dishwashing soap but you will need to provide your own laundry soap. I was lucky to bring two travel size Tide packets from Walmart with me....saved me from buying a whole bottle at the Graceway IGA.

Speaking of which...it was a convenient grocery store but it really makes me appreciate what we have and what we pay in the States.

The employees that we encountered were wonderful. I already mentioned Abdoul briefly, but didnt give him credit for arranging a most wonderful snorkle/tour trip for us through Caicos Dream Tours. Myia and her assistant in the restaurant were always wonderful. Roger and Stan at the beach area were always good for a smile or a trip on the cataraman. The owner, Rebecca, was always wonderful to run into. When she found out that we had become certified open water divers, she made arrangements to have ballcaps delivered to us to celebrate our accomplishment..what a wonderful, personal touch! She also shared the story of her beautiful rescue dog, Noni Bear with us.

We absolutely loved our stay here. We felt we were close enough to the 'action' should we need it, yet far way enough from the commericilized 'Beaches resort' atmosphere to really kick back and enjoy ourselves. Thanks Turks and Caicos Club...you will always be one of our favorites!

We tried to downgrade our room even before arriving, but all our phone calls and emails were ignored. We arrived too late to speak with management, so when we approached hotel management the next day - she became irate and and was downright rude. Her unprofessional behavior ruined the experience we were hoping to have.

The Turks and Caicos Club is as it states - "exclusive" and offers "ultimate relaxation" . What this means is that the resort is off the "beaten path" of most of Provo's other popular hotels, and therefore can give its quests that private feeling of comfort and relaxation that you feel in the privacy of your own home - except you're on one of the most brilliantly turquoise-blue beaches in the world! In addition, because the T&C is comparatively small, you never feel crowded. For example, even though our suite overlooked the pool area, the pool itself was usually tranquil, and when people were down there, they were few in numbers. Plus, we never heard music blasting, or the commotion associated with large Caribbean resorts. In fact, the staff here was very respectful of our privacy, but attentive to our needs, if we required anything.
The suites were so well equipped, with full kitchens (wonderful convection oven, microwave, fridge with ice maker) which made cooking fun, as we enjoy kicking back in our own suite and enjoying our favourite t.v. shows.
Our two-bedroom, two-bath suite gave us ocean views, where we could sit on our ample balcony and watch the beach curving off into the distance (it was not blocked a long line-up of hotels), the aquamarine and turqoise waves, and the palm trees bending in toward us in the breeze.
Another nice advantage of the T&C is the included full breakfast, which was a nice change from cooking. There were however, a lot of restaurants in the area which we could have sampled, but we only went to The Conch Shack and Horse-Eyed Jacks. The Conch Shack is totally over-rated, but the setting is quaint and fun.
I'd recommend renting a car, as most amenities, while only a 5 to 15 drive away, would be too much of a hike in the heat of the day. Do avoid the sun at peak times, especially if you go down from early spring onwards.
We definitely plan to return to this hotel; this was our frist trip to the Turks and Caicos and this hotel has won us over. The final touch is probably due to the personal touch of Rebecca, the owner, who is such a caring and kind individual, that she made us feel glad that we had chosen this resort, over the many others we had considered. A very endearing quality is her involvement with the local animal charities, and she even adopted a wonderful "potcake" puppy of her own, "Noni Bear", whose picture graces theTurks and Caicos SPCA's calandar as"Miss January".
Even though we stayed for only 10 days, checking out felt more like leaving home, than simply ending a vacation. We can't wait to return.

Thanks to all!
- Melva

T&C Club was perfect. On one of the best beaches possible. Quiet but only a few minutes walk to a snorkel reef right off the beach and some beachfront restaurants.
The place was extremely clean and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.
Cooked to order breakfast each morning, kayaks, sailboat and snorkel equipment all included in the price.
I would give it my highest recommendation.
