The attention to detail in designing and implementing this hotel is impressive to say the least... when you first arrive, your eyes are are drawn to the soothing color palette, the beautiful finishes of materials/fabrics/furnishings, the glistening tiles of the pool then to gorgeous Grace Bay beach. Stunning entry! Each area- the spa, foyer, pool, lounge, dining area, exercise room, walkways, individual rooms, outdoor bar and beach area have been carefully thought out to provide comfort and beauty. I would love to come back in six months to see the bouiganvilla growing higher on the trellis--the splashes of color against the white backdrop already provide a great visual impact. Kudos to the lighting specialists: In the evening this property is gorgeous. We enjoyed hearing the music played constantly, as we thought the variety was excellent and added to the ambiance. The music in the evening was different than during the day and was extremely pleasant to listen to while conversing, enjoying a drink or meal. The rooms, as stated in other reviews are fabulous. We looked forward each night to diving into that bed with the crisp Frette sheets; it was hard to get out of bed! We appreciated the quietness; we were lucky that noisy families or dogs were not near our rooms (yes, they were there). For us, the location was ideal...it is the last commercial property and therefore gave us the impression of having the entire beach to ourselves. Very little pedestrian traffic, unlike farther down the beach towards a property called Beaches. I would like to comment that providing free use of kayaks and the Hobie cat sailboat was an appreciated ammenity. We had brought our own snorkeling gear, so we did not need that offering. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at Bagatelle. Every choice except for one salad was very good. The dining staff, when told of our dislike of the salad, listened to what would be preferred and made that happen. The entire property is very clean... housekeeping was exceptional in thoroughness and tidiness...turndown service was a nice touch...we used the exercise room, took class and utilized spa service--all were very good experiences.

service was given a lower rating due to the inconsistency...it was as if the memo had not gotten to all staff in positions to carry out the level of service that was purported to be by the manager upon our arrival. we interfaced with mostly helpful, courteous employees. those few that were what we termed "deadbeats" or "downright ugly" really stuck out like sore thumbs. Specifically, these employees had to be told by management in front of guests to do X. I heard three employees discussing various women's appearances and complaining about not getting tips. This property has been opened for a long enough time period that i think this sort of problem would not be a problem by now. We had one other snafu: we were provided with written notice that the hotel was having a Happy Hour, but when we approached the outdoor bar to utilize this, we were told there was no such thing, even when we showed the notice to the staff. One employee stated that he would have to have the manager approve it--wasn't the notice from management??

I would like to commend: housekeeping, Steven (dining manager), Jill (pool manager) , Clay and his brother, "T", Jamal (extraordinary service), the woman that kept the poolside restroom immaculate, and the gentleman at the front desk on departure morning . As said before, most were pleasant, helpful. These mentioned by name provided "above and beyond" service for specific needs of ours.

The reviews and the pictures from the Internet encouraged me to make our 10 yr anniversary here....plus the fact that we had a fabulous 9th anniversary at the Gansevoort in NYC. The pictures came to life when we got to the resort. Walked in to view an incredible pool opening up to the beach and we were welcomed with drinks right out of the car. Coolest room that I've ever stayed in. When we downsize to a smaller place after our kids go to college then I would love to have the designer create a replica for me here in ATL. Pool is just fabulous and over the top. Great party scene. Molly Sims, Haylie Duff and others were at the GTC the weekend we were there. Service was extremely polite and very friendly but occasionally it did take a few minutes too long. Food at Bagatelle was excellent. Highly recommend the resort.

My husband and I took at quick 3-night jaunt down to T&C for our 5th anniversary and were looking for something small and chic. We had previously stayed at Point Grace (which we loved), but thought it would be nice to check out someplace new. We were not disappointed with the Gansevoort. The rooms were spacious and lovely, with a good-sized terrace overlooking the gorgeous beach and a large two-sink bathroom with a two-person shower. The pool was extremely pleasant, as was the beach, which sits a bit away from some of the larger hotels (though it is a pleasant walk down the beach to check some of the others out).
We each had a fantastic masseuse at the exhale spa, which itself was very comfortable.
Most importantly, we cannot say enough about how good the service was - helpful but not obsequious, friendly but not too familiar, and willing to go out of their way. Case in point - when one afternoon proved to be rainy, we requested a DVD or two, and one of the managers brought us their own personal collection from home for us to peruse.
The vibe is definitely stylish and young, with music to match (techno, house, electronica, R&B etc). If you want to sit and listen to the waves, you should go sit by the beach -music is played constantly in the pool and restaurant areas. There were a couple of families there, though I think other hotels like Beaches might be better suited for people with kids in tow (we left ours at home!).
The bar areas were very nice, and the quality of the drinks was very good (generously sized too - watch out!) The restaurant was good - not great - but definitely good (especially the french fries!).
The one other thing I would note is that this hotel lacks a retail outlet (ie for sundry items, maybe a new swimsuit, T-shirts, etc.) This normally would not be an issue for us, but when our baggage was lost (and thankfully recovered), having a place to at least grab a swimsuit would be nice. The desk does keep a variety of sundry items like toothpaste, razors etc, however.
Best things about the hotel: Great service, beautiful rooms and lovely pool area, fantastic spa
To be aware of: no retail/sundry/gift shop, music plays everywhere (so if you are looking for complete quiet this is not for you)

My family and I just returned from a relaxing and quite lururious trip to the Gansvoort. When you enter the hotel, your eye is drawn to the spectacular pool, with the private islands for sunbathing or reading under an umbrella. The best part of the pool for us is the low area around the islands where our two preschoolers could play in very shallow water right by our side. The Beach is much wider than elsewhere on Grace Bay, which also let our kids play in safety. The brand new government built park and playground next door came in handy too.
We were able to save money by staying in a one Bedroom suite on the second floor, because the kids could sleep comfortably on the very comfortable couches outside our bedroom. Having a refrigerator and fully equipped kitchen in our suite helped save money, since a quick trip to the IGA let us stock up with snacks, juices and breakfast and lunch items.(as well as a bottle of wine for our quiet time on the terreace while the kids napped after a full day on the beach,. The view looking west was teriffic, since there are no other hotels to the left of the Gansvoort.) We were then able to splurge on dinner in Bagatelle, the on site restaurant. The staff were great with our kids, and got to know them by name right away. We'll be back!

My family and I wanted to get away and just relax and unwind. The Gansevoort delivered a specatular vacation. The rooms are beautiful, the staff is fantastic, the whole property is like heaven on earth. A true paradise, lazy days on the beach and wonderful dinners at night. This by far was the best vacation we have gone on as a family. If you want to be pampered and just chill, this is the spot. Just perfect, not overdone... You feel like it is your own private oasis...
