“Incredible Value”
Review of Frontier Airlines

Reviewed January 21, 2020

This was the least expensive flight we've ever taken, and to be honest I was really wondering what we were getting ourselves into. I was so pleasantly surprised! The plane appeared to be new and the staff was SO friendly. They do charge for bags and they do charge for whatever food/drink you asked for. We just bough a sandwich at the airport and brought it on. Great experience!!

Have flown Spirit before so this was not my first experience with a budget airline. These budget airlines are ok if you are flying less than 3 hours and travel light. I was insane to try to fly a redeye (10:00 PM flight ). First of all you get nothing from Frontier, no snacks, no entertainment, seats that do not recline and are minimally padded. The entire flight is dark as it is a night flight and lands at about 5:00AM. Looking around you can see all the people trying to get comfortable so they could sleep. Due to the non-pitch of the seats that is impossible. It was the worst flight of my life as i could not sleep. DO NOT FLY THIS AIRLINE if you want to sleep. It is designed to be as uncomfortable as possible.

We had heard horror stories about discount airlines, so we went into this flight a little nervous. Price wise, I don't think it was much of a deal. We selected Frontier because it was our only direct flight option. Once you add in our seat selection and baggage fees, the flight cost about $480/person, but the experience overall was very pleasant - at least by modern-day flying standards. We took care of all of our seat and baggage needs online a few days before our flight. You save a good deal of money doing this online vs at the airport. The check in on the Cleveland was great. Fast and everyone was nice and helpful. On the Las Vegas side, they were a little crabby and our gate kept changing with little/poor communication but really no big issues with the process. Both flights were nice and mostly on time - it was a bad weather day going home, so no fault of the airlines that we came in a little late. We will definitely use them again.

Flew Chicago to Punta Cana on Frontier. Our flight down was early in the morning, ended up getting delayed about 20 min because they had to replace a tire. We quickly boarded and still arrived at our destination early. Flight was smooth. Seats are tolerable for a short flight. They came through with snacks and drinks very early in the flight and never came back through so I was very thirsty by the time we got there. I highly recommend buying something at the airport prior to departure. They never questioned the size of my personal item which was nice since you’re not allowed a carry on. As long as it fit under the seat they didn’t care. Flight home was also easy, got back about 40 min earlier. Buy your luggage before arriving, it’s cheaper. Overall great flight for a short trip, wouldn’t want to sit on that plane for more than about 5 hours.

Frontier is a good airline. They are privately held company with dedicated employees who seemed committed to enhancing our travel experience. We traveled round trip in a group of 3 and found the experience to be perfectly fine.
The company boasts a young fleet of aircraft and hubs out of Denver.
