Very good value for money for a trans-pacific roundtrip in business class. The hard product (especially the reverse herringbone seats on 787-9) is top notch and the service quality is attentive, if a little stiff. The one drawback in taking XiamenAir is transferring through their hubs in XMN and FOC is somewhat painful. Those airports are antiquated and lack the amenities of most modern international airports.

Air stewardess are acting professionally and at high speed of service. The journey was great as the hospitality is decent. The leg room in the flight is spacious, except the flight is bit old where 5 hours journey of flight is still using shared screen entertainment. They should upgrade to a better fleet of flight.

The flight from Vancouver to Manila via Xiamen had a long delay so Xiamen Air booked me into a dayroom at an airport hotel and on the next direct PAL flight to Manila at their expense.
Professional and courteous ground staff at the counter sorted out the consequences of the delay for all passengers. Very impressive, a first class effort !
The in-flight ratings are from the earlier Xiamen to Vancouver flight.

Was on a business trip and had to go from Shanghai to Xiamen. Took the easy route via metro 2 from downtown to Hongqiao airport.

checkin, security, boarding all as usual. Departure was delayed by 25 minutes, however, we still made it on time to Xiamen.

Good experience, reasonable prices - solid performance.

I had never heard of this airline when I booked my flight from Los Angeles to Bangkok, then I read the reviews after booking. I was completely stressed when I read all of the negative reviews and wanted to switch airlines. I have to say I don't understand all of the negative reviews because my experience was the complete opposite. We boarded the plane in L.A. with ease and within a hour of the flight they were serving us a complete tasty dinner. During the entire flight we got served 4 meals and each was excellent. The flight attendants were very polite, professional and attentive, although their English wasn't the best.

You're not allowed to use your phones at all, even to listen to music, but they did provide inflight music and movies. Although most of the music was foreign and the movies were older but it's no big deal because we just watched what they had and it was fine

The only negative is when you arrive in Xiamen, China you have to go through Customs and clear immigration again. The process ran pretty smoothly but it did take about 2 hours so make sure you have plenty of time in between flights.

I'll definitely fly with them again and for the price I was very pleased.
