We thought we were organized.
We checked in online and had our boarding passes and passports in hand. First the machine in the Barcelona airport wouldn’t print our baggage tags. We flagged down an attendant who stood in line at one working terminal with 5 other Vueling employees in front of her. She returned with our tags and then we went to the line to self check our bags. No luck. Then we had to stand in line for about 20 minutes to get our luggage checked. We asked the employee if we had done anything wrong she said “No the machines often don’t work.”
After measuring our bags at home, the gate agent determined that they wouldn’t fit Vuelings requirements for cabin bags. To his credit, he didn’t charge us but they would have fit fine. It was a fine flight but the boarding process was stressful so allow plenty of extra time.
