“Dreadful”
Review of Ryanair

Reviewed August 3, 2016 via mobile

Outbound flight: was seated next to the most intoxicated individual I have ever seen. Despite his repeated use of foul language, and at other times slurring so much he was not understandable, staff did nothing except continue serving him alcoholic drinks. I had to hold these as otherwise he was spilling them all over me. Not once did any staff check if I was ok.
Return flight got re-routed to Stansted. Took 4 hours for them to find alternative onward travel for us. After a three hour delay at the airport before boarding. Surly staff who were dis-interested throughout flight, though thankfully no extremely drunk passengers this time.
I will be using Ryanair again as I already have booked flights with them, before this nightmare. But after those flights I will look at London airports and a different airline.
I have flown Ryanair before and it been fine. But these flights were so far from fine that I don't want to use them again.

We use this destination a lot as we have bought a house near Perpignan. We have been doing this for three years. Ryan air have got their act together when it comes to seating and on flight refreshments. The crew have obviously been to "comedian" lessons and now give out a number of jokes. Nice touch but they need to be refined a bit!
The flight time has been changed by Ryan air this year. We live in Cambridge but a 7.05am take off time instead of 8.10am means most people will need to stay at an airport hotel which adds to the cost considerably. We get up at 4am and only have a 40 minute journey to Stansted. The planes are no longer old flying buckets but are now first class Boeings. Flight was good and landing spot on. Good coffee was served and at reasonable prices. Ryan air have learnt that lesson. No more ridiculous rip off prices.
One word of warning. When you look at the internet for flights and prices and then move away from the page, Ryan air software will "pick" you out and increase your fare when you return. Go to your local pub and log on and you may find a cheaper price offered.
Just a point about Ryanair which needs government intervention. They stop flights to airports on a whim. We used to enjoy all year flights to Perpignan. They were always full of winter break people, French and Spanish families and ski parties but now Ryanair have stopped winter flights to Perpignan from the beginning of November. This means their customers have to go to Carcassonne or Barcelona which for us means a hire car or an expensive train journey. Obviously Ryan air don't give a damn. The flights were always full so not a commercial decision or more importantly not a social conscience decision. Oh yes; thankfully we were slightly late so did not have to listen to the awful bugle. On another point. We made sure we had the statutory hand luggage. Obviously other passengers thought it was not necessary and nobody challenged them..some suitcases were a joke. We had to store our luggage in another area from our seat.

im happy with ryanair, good help from them as we are both disabled, and well looked after, but to have to pay £100. for luggage, this is just a bit to much, they were suppose to be reducing the charge, but nothing yet, good airline, but im sorry the charge is just not good for the luggage.

No surprises from Ryanair. They charge £30 each way for a large case, so we bought 4 cases for the cabin at £10 each and saved loads. Plus no waiting for luggage at the other end. We didn't eat or drink either. Why bother when it's so expensive and tastes rank. But for cheapness it is great. The flight was delayed both ends (we had a queue to land) by around 20 minutes but that can happen with any airline. Staff were fine, flight was good. Plane was almost clean. Would recommend.
