“overnight is never easy”
Review of Qantas

Reviewed October 21, 2018

Check in was very tedious and we queued for more than an hour. There were two busy flights leaving within 10 minutes of each other and more ground staff would have been really useful. Flight took off on schedule and I had my favourite aisle seat which is always a plus. Service was attentive but dinner was served quite late into the flight so it would have been nice to have a drink/ snack while we waited. I fly regularly with Singapore airlines and this is something they do within 30 minutes of take off. Our flight attendant was charming and friendly so that made up for it a bit..
We had a 4.5 hour wait in Melbourne for a connecting flight to Hobart which was tedious after an overnight and sleepless flight. Fortunately we could use the Qantas lounge but due to renovations there was only one shower available so had a bit of a wait before I felt human again!

Effortless boarding, and departure. A light meal. The weather was a bit difficult and a friend was upset on flight. The stewardess checked in on the traveller on a few occasions ensuring she remained calm. Seating was comfortable. Flight staff always lovely

Qantas is starting to be disappointing with its pathetic entertainment selection on one of the longest sectors it flies in the domestic market. If you don't have your own tablet or phone you're basically stuck on some of these planes, even in business class. Seats are cramped. Qantas couldn't help the lightning but being stuck on the tarmac for an hour wasn't fun on an already long flight. We had to wait for another flight to clear the baggage area, too. It wasn't a fun experience this time.

I was flying to Jordan via Bangkok to attend a conference. My first leg to Bangkok was with Qantas. The flight was a pleasure. Excellent customer service, super comfortable seats, great food. Highly recommend.

Qantas doesn’t try very hard on this route, they don’t have much competition. The 747 from Sydney to Johannesburg was very old. The business class seats didn’t lay fully flat and were very hard. Don’t know why we should pay such a premium. Both outbound & return flights ran late, necessitating a change in connecting flight coming home, adding 3 hours to the marathon. Slow food service, really old screen for movies. Tiny restrooms. The staff were fantastic though in trying conditions, not their fault.
Consider Singapore or Emirates. Prices ar similar for business & you’ll get a better experience.
