Lounge Access LAX- As a premium passenger you get lounge access at LAX but JAL does contract with a basic lounge provider at Tom Bradley. Not as good as Norwegian Premium Economy passengers getting the One World Business lounge. But the JAL Lounge at LAX is in my opinion way better than most Plaza Premium and Priority Pass Lounges I have been too around the world. Also Virgin Atlantic PE passengers dont get a lounge and neither do AIR New Zealand passengers. THE Los Angeles Lounge has some sandwiches, cup of noodles, snacks, a small outside seating area, good wife and BOOOOOOOOOOOZE. Enjoy. GOOD

The Lounge JAL contracts with at Hong Kong is Qantas Business and this lounge is the BOMB.COM. It is a very very very big, comfortable lounge. Way better than any business lounge at LAX or SFO or JFK or Newark. PE passengers on JAL get to use this lounge. Amazing! Food is good, alcohol selection is good (not as varied as One World lounge LAX) but the FOOD is way better than what they serve at LAX One World Business Lounge.

The Flagship Sakura Lounge NARITA-GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD better than most US airlines international lounge and AA Admiral Club lounges. AS PE you Get access. Food is good, booze is good.

The Seats- 42 inches of pitch Gooooooood. Better than United PE, American, Virgin, all of ANA, some of Air New Zealand, most of cathay pacific fleet but not as generous as Norwegian (Norwegian offers 43 or 46 depending on the equipment flying) but the seat is very functional and spacious and you will have enough legroom. The controversial thing about the seat is that it slides forward to recline rather than slides back. Frankly for a premium economy product, nothing beats the recline on Norwegian PE seats and their pitch is good too. So I was not a fan of the JAL recline but they make up for it in so many ways.

JAL FA's: They are the best in the world besides the gulf carriers. They are prompt friendly and kind and willing to serve.

The Food: You will NOT starve on a JAL PE Flight. Snack after snack, Udon De Sky, Probably the best economy food offered in the sky (not enhanced food like Virgin or Air New Zeleand) but when you have lounge access you tend to have your meals at the lounge instead of eating on the flight unless your flying a solid business class like Qatar Airways or Turkish Airlines business catering. Again for economy food it is pretty good.. Also you get Hagen Daz icecream and snack after snack after snack. GOOOOOOOOOOOD. My advice is EAT AT THE LOUNGE and if the food is good eat the airline meal. But enjoy all the yummy snacks and Udon de Sky and the Hagen Daz

Overall: I will fly JAL again. I normally fly business class when going overseas but when I am paying for 5 people and not traveling alone PE is the Way to go with JAL.

Japan for tourism is awesome . Friendly. Safe. Go with proper planning to enjoy. Not that expensive as people think . There’s an agent at delhi who does good planning . If anyone wants her link I can give .

The flight was on time and orderly. Boarding is straight forward though security clearance and luggage check in took a while. Advise jal domestic pax to be at the luggage check in counters 45mins before take off instead.
The inflight entertainment is 0/10. Everything is in Japanese though you have a personal entertainment screen.. But the programs are all in Japanese.. Is not movies or anything.. Just some Japanese travel program which I did not understand a peep.
Even the Jal WiFi programs on gogo system were all in Japanese and very limited.

Flight is comfortable and the gifts for kids is interesting and well liked by the kids. I chose Jal so because of the super early program which cost me less than 150usd per pax both ways.

Now I live in Moscow and always travel by this company, the attention they provide is of very high quality, regardless of the kind of seat you have. Punctuality (Japanese) is something that is very much appreciated in these times, and, this company, knows it perfectly. In all my trips I have always had very good experience with the menu (you can choose between 2 options) and the combinations and flavors are of very good quality. And do not forget the appetizers that help you taste meals better. In one of my trips my suitcase broke down, and when I went to pick it up from the conveyor there was a person from the company waiting for me with the bad news, however they gave me at the time a new suitcase with the apologies of the case. Yes I don't change JAL for other.

After having a terrible experience with Qantas flying into Osaka, we were happy to be on a different airline heading home.
JAL actually exceeded our expectations in regards to their welcome, their craft, their service and the quality of their food. First time ever I’ve eaten and enjoyed an airline meal! In stark contrast to Qantas staff, nothing was too much trouble, and they were constantly up and down the aisles with coffee, tea, green tea and water.
Upon landing, staff were at the baggage carousel offering help and directions to anybody who needed it.
I highly recommend JAL
