Flew Japan Airlines from San Diego to Tokyo and Shanghai. The service from check-in to landing was first rate. The 787-8 SkySuite for the San Diego/Tokyo legs are really roomy in economy class. The seat was extra wide and there was plenty of leg room to spare. The flight attendants were very attentive and polite, even reminding the people in front of you to put the seats upright during meal service. The Tokyo/Shanghai legs used older 787-8 models and the seats were noticeably more narrow with less leg room, but the service was still on par with the other leg of the trip. The only concerns I had were the cabin being a little warm and the seat pad wearing down after a couple hours in. On a 10+ hour flight that can become a little uncomfortable. Other than that I enjoyed my flights and would highly recommend flying with JAL.
