Nothing to say just PERFECT in any sense. I would love to fly again and again with them . Nice staff, good seats , everything was very good.

Recently flew to Egypt with Etihad Airlines from Thailand as Qatar Airways cannot fly to Egypt at present. I must say I am fan of both airlines and make over 10 business flights a year mostly with Qatar or Etihad to Europe and Middle East who ever has the best price at the time of travel.

I was very disappointed by the obvious cut backs that Etihad airlines have made to their inflight Services in their premium cabin and on the ground services during transit to my final destination. First out of Phuket check in was great, I was fast tracked through and directed into a very small-lounge. Food quality and drink choice in the lounge wasn’t all that good but it was quiet, a little cramped for the amount of passengers from different airlines using the same lounge. Everything on time, boarded smoothly and got the seat that I had requested.

The flight was onboard the A330 with direct access to the aisle and typical Etihad flat beds so nice. Directed to my seat and left. The dinner menu was presented with a nice choice but on serving over heated and dumped on the plate. No amenities kits given by Etihad anymore which was always nice to have, and now for only super long haul flights according to the crew. Movie choice was ok, but nothing great.

Arrived into Abu Dhabi for a 3 hour transit before flying on to Cairo and directed to the lounge. Which only resembled a market. The whole point of paying for the premium service is to have that experience in the lounge too, but as Etihad are now offering all, customers to book the lounge, it seems to be quite popular, so the lounge Has become noisy food court no seats especially in the early hours , just leaves you feeling let down. Maybe offer another lounge for the actual business and first class passengers !

Next flight to Cairo at terminal 1 and boarding with no priority boarding in both directions. So the queue. Became a crowd and business class passengers were the last to board and not by choice.
The flight was onboard a A320 which is a regional business class service apparently and is not the business class they advertise. Hot cabin, and old plane. Arrived in Cairo through immigration although no fast track provided and waited for luggage . The priority luggage failed on this service.

On the way back to Thailand check in Cairo Terminal 2 check in was late opening, there is no fast track provided by Etihad for premium passengers through immigration like that other airlines were offering queued for 1.15 to get through immigration and then another hour through further security and then Directed to a lounge that resembled a canteen again shared by other airlines and catered by Egyptair sadly.

Again transit through Abu Dhabi , lots of queues and a very busy lounge with no seating, so went to cafe in terminal 1 whilst waiting for flight to Phuket. Terminal 1 is the original terminal and sadly plumed with cigarette smoke. That blows across the seating area, very unpleasant . There were 3 very young children (under 3) in business class from one wealthy family. Being looked after by the nanny as the parents slept! I love kids but not in business class?
On arriving into. Phuket no fast track offered again for its premium passengers like other airlines were offering and spent 1.50 waiting to get through immigration. We asked the crew as they walked past the huge queues if we got fast track but they informed us that is wasn’t available, which isn’t correct. Their were many disappointing factors on this experience with Etihad compared to-the other flights I have taken with them. I certainly will think twice whether I use them for a premium service in the future. There is no fast track, no chauffeur, no lounge experience, no amenity kits, and a change in the onboard product, so what are paying for especially when you flying on these regional old aircraft. A real shame as in the past I have had great flights with them?

Departed on time about 1600 on a B777. excellent and attentive service by cabin attendants.

Seat very comfortable and able to lie flat for a sleep.

IFE is ok - list of movies could be updated.

Ground staff and business lounge were great. On board services and crew were fantastic. The aircraft was not that good, neither was the seat comfort.

Sales offices was awful and its staff as well. Ground staff were not fast enough. Air craft was old and not that comfortable. Some flight crew were friendly and some were not. Baggage allowance is great. Food was also good.
