Had to be at airport 2 hours before check in , Hated The self service Check in ! ended up having to find a Human to help get our Boarding cards printed !!! Then had to self serve weigh in Bags [Only 20kg] allowed put on your own luggage labels.. No one around to ask. Then to security and self scan the boarding cards !!! travelling is stressful enough without all this !!! Through security hand luggage/personal checks . and out into Heathrow airport ... Looked at what gate only to find the flight was Delayed 1 hour ! Food and drinks in airport are expensive best deal is to buy a sandwich /crisps or choc and drink £3.99 at Smiths .. When we finally got to Gate to board plane yet again self serve and my ticket wouldnt scan ! so had to wait for attendant .. really not happy at taking Humans out of the loop just doesnt help stressed travelers at all ,Flight to Leeds was Quick If you want a drink or food yo have to pay .. really good landing even though at Leeds it was very windy ..

BA is is old school, well it was, now it can’t decide if it’s Easy Jet, ie do you want a coffee then buy it. That’s ok but they dont charge easy jet prices. Staff are ok , not super helpful or friendly, actually quite distant. No recognition for one world status, and next to no benefit for being a very frequent flyer.

Flight from Miami International to London Heathrow Terminal 3 on a 747 400. Sounded like a bone shaker on take off and landing. Smooth and relatively comfortable flight, food appalling and under cooked, service poor to say the least! Apart from being offered a glass of Champagne on boarding I wasn't offered any further liquid refreshment, no wine etc. BA really need to step up their game in this first class cabin, and purchase some new planes, far too many of the old 747s in their fleet!

Main issue with the trip was New Orleans airport. I had business class ticket so got through security pretty quick. For people travelling in economy, it took ages. Travelling on a long haul flight with BA, the airport is not up to it. Not only is there no business lounge, there are no decent restaurants or bars. There is a wine bar near the gate which has a small number of decent seats and only serves wine (no soft drinks) at around $18 for a glass.
The flight itself was fine, as I would expect with BA. The plane was a 787, seats were comfortable and the new mattress / duvet combination is definitely an improvement. The staff were friendly and helpful. I did not have the evening meal as I wanted to sleep but breakfast was very good.
I can recommend the flight but not the airport.

Not impressed by the companies failure to offer any co-operation with an important and first ever (westward) 'round the world' rubidium atom 'time dilation' experiment, but I doubt many prospective flyers will worry about that!

Security is decamped to each gate at Changi, which would have been ok had the staff not stood around for 20 minutes while the queue built up to 200ft (step off the travellator and walk back the way you came to join the end!) The queue was then still growing when boarding started! But that's an airport issue. BA staff were excellent.

Far more legroom and space than most on the A380, including for hand luggage. Excellent plane and cabin crew. All went perfectly until a problem unloading the baggage meant a long wait at the carousel.
