“Oh dear !”
Review of British Airways

Reviewed September 20, 2017

I used to love BA, in fact I would recommend them to everybody who was flying economy as one of the best. Last couple of times I've flown them (longhaul, USA, 2015 & 2016) they really have gone downhill . Cabin crew are mostly still great but are under so much pressure from the passengers due to poor food choices, lack of snacks and when offered "x" or pasta bake as your main course choice, "x" seems to run out after one row, so it's pasta....oh joy ! Still at least the booze is still more or less unlimited and the crew are pretty understanding when it comes to handing out two bottles of wine at a time. I suppose the accountants have worked out how much money they have saved with the cutbacks, but they have lost me as a customer and I've booked Virgin Atlantic for my next USA trip in 2018

My wife and I selected British Airways (BA) for round trips flights to and from Lisbon, Portugal based on our many past experiences flying BA Business Class. We boarded BA's aircraft on each of the flights to find the Airbus 320 was configured exclusively with Coach seats. We paid a premium for Business Class seats and our boarding passes and our printed itinerary clearly noted Business Class.

Love to fly BA but seats can only be reserved 24 before boarding since we travel with young children extra stress before you leave. 24 hours we could not book my wife an sun a seat somthing about travel documents when we phoned BA promised us that is was going ok. But in the airport Amsterdam the children where siting alone by them selfs in Heatrow they fixed. I wrote BA email about this but now almost two mounths later no response

On our whay to Atl the childeren where not sitting with us

This was a return flight and refers to BA 0634 on sept 2 and BA 0633 on sept 16

Outwards ranking is. 1 star
I hold an executive card and am temporarily handicapped and use a crutch hence I booked assisted service - folks in Heathrow could not have been more accommodating and friendly- however when it comes to the flying bit it all changed
I had the mishap the day before flying so could not even get a better seat if I would have paid the flight was full and my place was in the last row - stating on arrival at the airport that it might be difficult to hobble all the way down was noted but nothing was done about it
After I arrived at my seat I found out that this was one of the new airbusses with virtually NO leg space so I needed to leave my casted foot in the aisle. This was noted by cabin crew who asked me to move it in the seat - which was not possible
I was then told off for not booking a different seat- when I stated that this was not poss when I checked in this was ignored
For the next 15 to 20 min crew members and passengers fell on or over my leg until suddenly a flight attendant said we move you to club - but to be clear it so for the seat only
I got the distinctive impression I was moved for the convenience of the staff rather than mine and indeed I did not even get a glass of water- this is difficult as they do not sell stuff in club either. Stating this and asking I finally got a glass of water with free pink lipstick on it- cheers
The flight was also 45 min late
The whole experience was annoying, and stressful and made me reflect what people with a permanent disability go trough.

The return flight was totally different - 4 stars ( 1 deducted as so late that we did not get back to the island on the day we flew and had to take up overnight accommodation. discouraged by my previous experience I did not book assisted but turned up with my crutch staff in Athens and on the plane bent over backwards to find me a comfortable extra legroom seat and also allowed my wife to board early
It was one of their old tattered 767 but the crew loved their job and valued customers like in the days when you chose BA for the service
Yes we were also delayed but the captain explained it said he would do his best and they made up time

If this is a sign we're the new BA goes ( easy jet space and service and extra charges) they should perhaps also learn punctuality from them
Or they should go back to their old values which some of their staff still cherish ow they might have to go their way without my custom
