“Great flight”
Review of American Airlines

Reviewed December 11, 2017

Great flight. Allen and the rest of the crew took such good care of us all. Look forward to flying with them again.

This is the second time American Airlines have been a complete failure. I specifically booked flights from Killeen to Chattanooga with specific times and travel time for a purpose. The flight there was great, no issues. This trip was the most wonderful time and everything had gone off so great. I had booked an 6:15 am flight from Chattanooga arrive back in Killeen at 10:05 am. We drove back from Pigeon Forge with a great drive through the Smoky Mountains and spent the night in Chattanooga at a hotel 7 minutes from the airport to catch the 6:15 am flight, waking up at 3:30 am to arrive and get through the airport. We checked in with the agent and checked our luggage and were given boarding passes. Headed up to get through security when I noticed that the departure time was 4:10 PM. I ran to the departure board only to find the flight said CANCELLED. We ran back down to the agent, who said that the flight was just cancelled and he was even surprised to see that our boarding pass said departure of 4:10 PM. The flight he said was just CANCELLED due to mechanical issues. So some 20 hours later and 3 different planes we arrived home exhausted ending what should have been the best trip ever with a bad taste in our mouths for the second time. I get it things happen, safety first and all that. But you would think after years in the business American Airlines would have a better handle on issues like this. I have been a customer with American, a AA member and AA credit card holder for years, not that that means anything. All they have offered so far was a cab ride back to our hotel that thankfully we could go back to at 6 in the morning. I will not rest until I get a refund for half the ticket. They should just do better and be held accountable for non weather related issues. Thanks American for ending a wonderful trip on a horrible note. It's just pathetic!

Three of four flights were on-time. Coming back, our red-eye out of Lihue was delayed due to a maintenance issue upstream somewhere.

The planes are equipped with chargers at each seat for your electronic devices so take a cord. That's great and helps pass the time! One plane had video and interactive capabilities on a monitor mounted behind each seat. This certainly helped pass the time as did the free earbuds on another plane to listen to your choice of music or the movie.

The prices was pretty much expected. We were forced to take an upgrade to a seat with more leg room in order to be on that flight. We were glad we had it for the longest flight which was from Phoenix to Lihue. Serious butt-cruncher.

The worst part of the entire trip was at Lihue on the way back home. The American crew did not open the bag check-in as soon as expected by well over 100 people who had no place to go until bags were checked, etc. Don't show up at the airport early expecting to eat in the airport if you are on one of the earlier evening flights. Perhaps American should consider the fact that the resort check-out times are in the morning so they should have the ground crew available for check-in earlier in the evening. TSA needs to have more room to work and more PATIENCE with people trying to negotiate the airport late in the evening. I know this is not American's problem but they should know.

The American aircrews were great. I highly recommend American for a long flight.

I like it when the captain points out areas of interest that you can see from above.
We used Alaska Airlines from Mexico to Los Angeles then went through a tunnel walking all over to get to American Airlines.
When we returned from American Airlines to Alaska Airlines we had to ask in the airport where to catch our next flight to Mexico City. We had to find the tunnel again and go to Alaska Airlines. Anyone who can't walk would have a hard time to find where to go, or anyone who doesn't speak English too!!

Flew the non-stop for my nephew's wedding up in Maryland. It was actually a better deal to fly into Reagan than BWI so that wasn't a problem. The flight out was delayed by about 50 minutes but overall wasn't bad. The return, also delayed by about 1 hour. Seems AA has a big problem with on time issues. I heard they are getting better, but they have a ways to go to catch the leaders.
