This was our 6th cruise on Princess, 3 of which previous cruises were trans-oceanic. The negative first: of all ships on which we have cruised (the above-noted Princess ones, plus a Viking ocean cruise, a Norwegian, and a Celebrity), this ship FELT the most crowded. That took a bit of adjustment on our part. Also, the buffet was a bit disappointing, possibly because there was a lot of food designed to appeal to Asians (which was great for diners with those tastes). On the positive side: the dining room’s food quality and variety for the evening meal were great. Service from most of the dining room servers was impeccable. The entertainment was 90% terrific—I mean, really terrific. The comedians were actually funny; the singers and dances were spectacular, the Ruby Princess orchestra was amazing.
The cabins were well-appointed. We have occasionally chosen an interior cabin, as we did on this ship, to save money for extended travel at the cruise’s end location. I would not recommend an interior cabin on the Ruby Princess solely because the more crowded feel of the ship made us retreat to our cabin more than we typically do. We would have really used the private balcony for that reason.
Would we travel on this ship again? Most definitely, but with a balcony or mini-Suite cabin to be an escape from the crowds.

I will preface this review by stating I have been on over 28 cruises. I've sailed just about every cruise line out there or sold it while I was a travel agent. I Just returned from 18 days on the Ruby Princess. We boarded in Auckland, which was the last 8 night leg of the
