First cruise ever and looking forward to it in a big way, lots of good reports from other cruisers. The late September weather wouldn't co-operate, had three hurricanes in the preceding weeks and we figured they would cancel but onward we went. This was on the Royal Carribbean Grandeur of the Seas, an older ship, needing refurbished much to our dismay, all ageing, carpeting worn and just generally tired. The staterooms are very small, and I mean veeerry small, and the bathrooms very very small, would never do that again, would step up to a larger suite, but much more expensive. That being said it was clean, and the cruise was primarily for the retirees, which we fit into, very few younger people and even less kids. First off, the price wasn't too bad, but they hustled you to upgrade almost everything, we only upgraded the drink package, not big drinkers but it included bottled water which you don't get without this package, and also soft drinks, same deal. That being said with the drink package you get top shelf drinks but a pretty steep price of $600.00 for 2 for a 5 night cruise. The food included was only average hotel quality, but plenty of it and the best was the Windjammer restaurant which was self serve buffet and a large variety. The sit down restaurant was a very limited menu and small portions, but you could order additional of you wanted. If you don't have the drink pkg and would like a cocktail or wine with dinner it could get very expensive. The entertainment was ok not great but no real names and was geared to the older crowd. They would constantly hustle you to shop onboard and sign up for add'l cruises. We arrived in Bermuda and had some serious waves, the tail end of the hurricane and they basically closed the island, no beaches no excursions, nothing could be done, a wasted time, they should have cancelled the trip knowing this would happen. Also there was no offer of a discounted trip to make up for the poor weather that was encountered, and believe me they knew or should have known. That all being said the brightest spot of the whole trip was the crew, waiters, bartenders, and stateroom attendants they were spectacular, catered to all your wishes and were cordial and confident in everything they did. They get a AAAA+ rating. Everything considered we had a good time, not a great time and with some changes and a new more modern ship you probably could have a great time. But not on this trip.

From start to finish, RCI did the worst job of caring for its passengers. Coast Guard inspection (due to previous fire?Google it)) made ship late from port , missed excursion in Boston, late for Portland excursion, missed St. John and Bar Harbor, returned to Boston, Halifax was

I’ve been on many cruises, but never have I had such great service as I did on the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas. Alexis, the head waiter in the dining room, was awesome. My daughter and I are vegans and she has a very selective menu, as she can’t have gluten or eggs

On October 3 we sailed on a 9 days cruise to New England and Canada out of Baltimore. We drove for 2 days from Miami to be able to get this live long dream. To begin with the ship was delayed for 8 hours, we never knew the real reason for it, therefore arrived late to Boston

Sailed on the RCL ship Grandeur of the Seas out of baltimore, Md. This is a great ship. It is a smaller ship but has all the amenities of the larger ships. This was 12 day trip to Southern Caribbean, with various islands to be visited. Passenger capacity was around 2200 and
