This was our first cruise. We had 2 balcony cabins (not next to each other which I would do next time. I was unaware the dividers on the balcony could be opened) one for the kids (21,18 and 17) and us. I chose this ship/itinerary because I wanted to go to Glacier Bay. We boarded in Seattle and I think my level of expectation was pretty low. Our room was bigger than I thought it would be with lots of storage. The service onboard was great. I suggest taking the time to talk to your dining attendants and your stateroom attendant. Ask them questions and tip them a little more than the daily tip. The itinerary was perfect and the day in Glacier Bay was beautiful. They came around with split pea soup and mulled wine while we were in Glacier Bay. We went back and forth from our cabin balcony to all of the decks on board the ship and the views were never ending! We ate in the main dining room each night (we had a reservation for 8pm and our own table with the 5 of us) and the food was really good. We would grab sandwiches and snacks from the Lido Market and my husband and I ordered room service for breakfast (at least coffee) each morning. Hint on the coffee if you have 2 people that drink coffee and want more than a cup and a half order coffee for 4. Our son who is 21 went to the casino a little, we enjoyed the happy hours on board. Our daughter who is 18 got up early and took her camera around the ship and explored on her own. Our 17 year old daughter felt she was a little too old for the teen club and didn't hang there at all. We would hang in the Crow's Nest and work on puzzles or read books. It was definitely an older crowd, but being the beginning of June a lot of families with all ages of kids on board. My husband especially fell in love with cruising and has booked several more. Be sure and check out all of the activities on board. We loved the Lincoln Center Stage (talented young musicians), the main stage had good shows and comedians and a great magician. This being our first cruise we don't really have a lot to compare it to, but the natural beauty of Alaska was really worth the price of admission.

We were impressed with the cleanliness of our cabin. Absolutely everything worked perfectly. The ship was obviously recently refurbished. No detectable rust or mildew which is often the case with ocean vessels. The room steward was extremely responsive to any request and every

The initial occupation of our stateroom was not favorable. Our bed was not configured into two twin beds despite confirmation in writing that it would be. Three of four cabin USB ports were broken. These two issues were addressed/repaired after complaining to our cabin
