This was our families first cruise together. We received notice of the reroute a couple of weeks before departure, totally understood and they were great at either full return of funds or 50% off the trip if we continued. We were so excited we kept it and went on.

1. The worst was just the smell, constant smell of sewage from the decks.
2. Casino was small.
3. Breakfast buffet was always the same.
4. Decent room size, it was OK
5. Dinners were good - although I would not pay the extra for the high end restaurant, not worth it.
6. Pool was extremely small and always crowded.
7. Entertainment was not very good, same comedian was great one night and awful the next. The puppeteer brought politics into the show which he could have left out.
8. Would recommend the kitchen tour, very informative.
9. My son's room flooded with a broken sewer pipe, put him in a smaller room until complained and then put him in a comparable room.
10. On departure of final morning, it was a ZOO! Elevators were full so had to walk down several flights of stairs with all of our luggage to get to the customs line.

Empress is smaller, older, but the staff, shows and ports make up for it. Our bed was uncomfortable so they fixed it. The shows every night we’re absolutely fantastic. The staff is amazing on this ship. Royal Caribbean is a great company to sail with.

I spent 8 days on Royal Caribbean Empress of the Seas. The ports of call were good, although Royal Caribbean’s shore excursions were very overpriced. Better to get off the ship and pick up a tour on the pier. The main complaint of the cruise was the food. I ate in the

Enjoyed the Caribbean coco cay, Puerto, St Thomas, Tortola. General dining was fair the speciality restaurant Chops was excellent. The on shore tours were very good and informative. Being a smaller ship, getting on and off there was very little waiting.

I loved it! It is really great for first time cruisers. You cannot sense movement at all. Great for littler kids because of size.
