First time cruiser with Princess and enjoyed every minute. The Emerald ship was perfect! Cruised with Thomson before but I'd recommend a bigger ship, the atmosphere and activities were so much better.

Our interior cabin was just the right size with excellent storage space and the comfiest beds! Our butler Lance was amazing, couldn't do enough for us and provided everything we asked for and answered all of our questions.

The pools were often busy, even on port days. If you're wanting shade, definitely get up early as this is very limited at all pools. There were plenty of poolside activities such as water volleyball, djs and movies/concerts on the big screen throughout the day to keep us entertained. Pool towels were available but were removed from your bed after 30 minutes of you being gone. Would recommend buying some towel clips to keep your towel down in the wind, plus you know which bed is yours then!

Entertainment throughout the day was great, something for everyone such as trivia, seminars, health talks etc. In the evening, there were plenty of bars to choose from with different singers, shows and trivias to play. The movie under the stars had to be my highlight, with comfy sun loungers, blankets and popcorn.

If you can, avoid booking an excursion directly with Princess. They are so expensive! We paid $100 each to visit Sorrento and Pompeii and ended up wasting over an hour of time at a wood, limoncello and brooch factory which was not necessary. The tour guide had no concept of time (we only just got back on the ship in time for departure) and seemed to drone on forever. The rest of the time, we created our own plans at each of the ports and did things independently, so make sure to research each port and get everything in you want to do.

Food was amazing. We chose any time dining which you get a choice from the buffet or a sit down menu restaurant in the evening. There are plenty of other restaurants to choose from, with a small supplement of course. The Crown Grill had to be a personal favourite, the lobster and smores were to die for!

Drinks packages were also very expensive. We bought the soda package which we used well but payed $10 for a glass of wine of an evening... definitely research this to make sure you're making the most of your package and you've chosen the right one.

Overall, a fabulous cruise. I'd definitely cruise with Princess again!

My husband and I have been on the Emerald twice and will be boarding her again Nov. 18th for our third trip on the Emerald. The ship, food and staff have all been great.

This was a great cruise throughout the Mediterranean. Great itinerary. We slept while the ship was at sea. In the morning we woke up in a different city, and sometimes country everyday. We visited Gibraltar, Marseilles, Genoa, and Pisa. A beautiful trip.

I was excited to be doing my first Princess cruise with my 12 Australian friends, and looking forward to visiting the Mediterranean ports. We chose anytime dining which worked out well. The food in the dining room was reasonably good, but not the best I have had on a cruise. The

Heath procedures let gastroenteritis spread through the ship. Once they disinfected the ship twice, started serving food rather than a buffet the epidemic slowed (1 day until the end of the cruise). WHY DIDNT THEY DO IT BEFORE WE got on the ship. The food was terrible. The
