“7 hours delay with no reason given”

I received a whatsapp from an unknown number saying that my flight was going to be delayed more than 7 hours. I tried to called the airline and no one would pick up the phone, at the airport there was no one from the airline to give us information, and the websites were not updated. Very confusing and frustrating

We tried to claim our delay with different companies, since we missed a booked tour we had in Semarang. All of them told us that they had tried it and have been completely ignored by the airline.

Unfortunately Nam/sriwijaya Air is one of only two airlines that run the route. Flight was cancelled on the day, planned for a delayed departure 27hours later. Keep your travel plans fully flexible if you have to use this airline.

Our one and half hour flight from Semarang to Makassar was delayed for more than four hours. Sriwijaya did not contact us in advance so we were left to wait hours in the airport. We were given vouchers to exchange for cash worth about US$20 but have not been able to exchange these to date.

Service on board, when we eventually took off, was basic and the plane was 20 years old.

We traveled from Bali to Labuan Bajo, a one hour flight. We booked on the internet 3 months prior to travel from Australia and was nervous when we arrived in Bali, domestic Airport terminal for our flight. Having never heard of this airline before we wondered if it was a real airline and would our ticket be honored. Everything went to plan and the plane left on time. The plane was clean and well presented. The staff was great. On our return journey, our lunchtime flight was canceled and rescheduled to the end of the day. Whilst this was annoying, we were given advanced notice by phone message and was able to plan our day according to the new schedule. Our return flight was just as good as the previous journey. I would recommend this airline based on my experience.

Flying from Brisbane to Makassar. Value for money when compared with many others. Do some shopping and be careful, you can spend $1000 more if you rely on Google.
