Hotels off the beaten track

I picked the Boca Chica forum rightly or wrongly because I will be going to the airport after my stay. My first night will be in SD, the next 4 in Bayahibe and I have the last 2 nights unaccounted for.

I've been to the DR a number of times, though by no means am I an expert. I have stayed in SD and Boca Chica before. I don't care for Boca Chica at all, but that's another story. My girlfriend and I are looking for a hotel away from the insanity of BC but not too far to get to the airport. My budget is $100 - $150 per night.

Thanks for any recommendations.

There is a Quality Inn close to SDQ, good for an overnight before a flight but not much to do. For two nights, I would just stay in SD at Barceló Gran Lina or similar for more things to do. Gran Lina has club, casino and two good restaurants.

Staying in Boca Chica would be a waste of time. Have a night in the Zona Colonial - plenty to see and do in the area. Then taxi out to the airport.
