Green Tea Fields for tourist & Public Transport availablity.

Hi,

I'm going to Kyoto for 2 days. Interested to visit any Green Tea fields for sightseeing and sampling the famous matcha & sencha. Is there any fields that open for tourist anytime without prior arrangement & can be visited in just half day or one day trip from Kyoto city. I guess most of the fields is off the beaten path and can be access by driving a car and not reachable by public bus etc. How far that can be?I'm going there in Spring, early April 2015. Pls help. TQ

Looks like they have some tea events at Yamashiro Tea Farm, but it'll be all in Japanese:

April is a bit early for tea picking.

As for Fukujuen Cha Experience Park, an advance reservation is required><

There are not many tea fields in Kyoto City. Tea fields are seen in Uji, Kizugawa, Joyo, Kyotanabe, Ujidawara-cho, Yamashiro-cho, Seika-cho, Waduka-cho etc.

From the handle of that poster I think it was just an attempt to plug his website rather than really help the OP.
