Transportation and St Guilhem-le-desert

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping to travel to St Guilhem-le-desert from Barcelona. I know I can take a train into Montpellier but I don't know how exactly how to get to the little village of St Guilhem-le-desert. Has anyone taken a train there from Montpellier? It looks like there are buses but they don't run very often. Thanks,

Brynn

There is no train from Montpellier to Saint-Guilhem but there is a bus - click on "Ligne 308" : herault-transport.fr/…Mtp

Just to say the 308 bus is also accessible from Clermont l'Herault which can be reached from Beziers.

Hi Brynn

Lucky you! St. Guilhem is just a beautiful spot.......you can get a bus from Station Mosson in Montpellier to Gignac, ( there are a number of lines) then the number 308 to St. Guilhem. Station Mosson is on the Montpellier Tramway network lines 1 & 3. Herault Transport, ( herault-transport.fr) has routes, timetables and fares).

Enjoy and post your thoughts on here after the trip!

Surely Montpellier Mosson Station is on tramway line 1 and 4, not 1 and 3 ?

No, it is lines 1 and 3. Line 4 is the one that goes almost around in a circle close to the city centre.

The Montpellier office of Tourism offers 1/2 day trips to Saint-Guilhem-le Desert if you're just wanting go go and look around. You can check with them at http://www.ot-montpellier.fr/en/guided-tours. We have taken multiple tours with the Tourism Office and they're very well done and affordable.

Another vote for Montpellier tourist office trips.

I've done several and they are good.
