Spearfishing!

Are there any opportunities for spearfishing in West Bay?? ie - companies or guides to go with/rent gear etc? Will be there from April 15th to 22nd...

If you can't spear them...see if any of the places will let you be a spotter. I did this in Grand Cayman and it was awesome fun. Helped kill about 40 some. Also....lots of sharks come when you start spearing so that's another bonus.

As we were snorkeling out the channel to the outside of the reef at Infinity Bay last week, there were a number of shore divers below us - I think mostly equipment check type dives... Anyway, saw one diver with two speared lionfish...

We only saw lionfish on one menu - at La Sirena at Camp Bay. We had the lionfish ceviche and the lionfish "fish fingers" and both were very good.

I think I am going to do the class in May, the Marine Park said a min of 4 people and they could do class around our schedule. We have always watched our divermasters spear them and thought it would be interesting to try it,

You might want to see if you can send money ahead to pay for the spears and assure they have some. Just a Hawaiian sling but special color coded for RMP
