Day trips

Looking for day trip from Grand Palladium. Can be shopping in Mobay or something else. Suggestions please! Is it worth the while to go to Rick's? Hip strip?

For a complete list of things to do in Lucea see the following

For things to see and do out of town see the following

Keep in mind that all of the places listed are about 25 miles, one way, and 45 min., one way, from Lucea.

About Ricks.

Rick's is one of several Jamaican icons (Dunn's River Falls, MoBay's Hip Strip, Margaritaville are some others) that attract tourist so that they can say that they "saw" or "experienced" Jamaica. But there are just icons that really could be on any island.

Rick's is set in Negril as its icon. Perhaps I can say this: Rick's is to Negril as "The Albert and Crown Pub and Eatery" is to Alberton. That is to say, some love the place and can say they have been to Negril because they went to Rick's. I find Rick's is something to miss.

Let me suggest this: take the excursion to RIck's, find out what time the transport plans to return to Lucea, walk into RIck's for 10 minutes, leave and walk up the hill to a pub/eatery called LTU, order a beer (or a rum-thing), and watch the sunset from LTU. At the appointed time, return to RIck's, board the van and tell the others in the van of your adventure in NEGRIL. If you decide to have a meal at LTU and miss the van, just take a red-plated taxi back to Palladium.
