Naviti Resort - Tours/Things to do

Hi, We are staying at the Naviti Resort in January 2013 staying for 9 nights and wondering what tours everyone would suggest. There are 3 families holidaying together and we will have 6 kids in total rangeing from 11 -18yo. My brother in law would be interested in a fishing tour, does anyone know if this is possible? Looking forward to reading everyones suggestions.

Thanks

You'll be able to book a fishing trip through the Naviti when you get there or just ask the activities staff also. They will usually cook up your catch for a minimal charge, or for free if you catch enough to donate some to the kitchen. There is a horseback waterfall tour at nearby Korolevu village. You can also walk up (1/2hour) if you want, though you will get your shoes wet. Boro from the village usually organises this.

The Jewel of Fiji tour on the Navua River is highly recommended. Just near Pacific Harbor (45 mins). You visit the village, it's pre-school, watch the dancing, have Kava, lovo lunch, then swim at a nearby waterfall, float down the river on a bili-bili (bamboo raft).

For an island snorkelling day tour, from the Naviti, your best option may be Beqa Lagoon. It too is from Pacific Harbor, as opposed to Denaurau Marina, Nadi, which requires a 2 hour each way bus ride, maybe longer, depending on the number of resort pick-ups along the way. Most of the Mamanuca Day Trips offer the same fare( Captain Cook, Whales Tale etc). The "coral" is mostly dead and fairly clock work. Beqa Lagoon is a bit better, but a lot closer too.

Sigatoka Jet Boat isn't a bad tour, see if you can get to a rugby game in Sigatoka if you can, even if you don't like rugby. The inland cave tou is also well worth it.

Be sure to do the sunset Robinson island crusoe tours. Absolutely breataking & amazing! Certainly worth it. Suitable for the whole family.. Book tix thru Ur hotel or if it's school holsaybe Pre book with hotel asap. The island is stunning and Ur memories will stay with you forever!

Dinner is included & it's a traditional hungi. Fire walkers, dancers, entertainment for guest. It's truly something on the bucket list to tick off!

We are about to return to Naviti later this month and are also wondering what other activities we should be looking at. Last time we did the jet boat tour which was great and am considering the cave tours, but are there any other suggestions?
