Few Questions before booking..can you convince me?

Hey all

Few things I need to know before booking

Thinking of staying at the Diani Sea Resort, what is the food like? Do standard rooms have a safe? What is evening entertainment like? is there sunloungers on the beach provided free by the hotel?

Diani area? Much outside hotel complex? anywhere else to eat if we didnt like hotel food?

Thanks

Hi yes there is a safe in the room & hairdrier ha ha - if you look at some of the previous pages on this forum many of your questions will be answered - Food is fine at the resort, buy yes plenty of places to eat outside, but good to try eating out -try Urshago, at shoping centre just 2 mins from hotel so you can walk-However if going out always go by taxi - also plenty of other places to eat out. None of the hotels have lounges on the beach, they are all in the grounds, dont let that put you off, loungers are all facing the sea & yare on top on the beach - A 1 night safari is fine, yo have mention JT & someone else has also reccomended a Co. Email both now whilst in uk & compare prices, you will then get a feeling which one is right for you - Yes where cargos & T-shirt on safari, also take a light jumper or wrap as it gets a little cold at night whilst on safari not when your in diani - Hotel enterainment at night is fine, but the 2nd week tends to be repeated so mayb think about going out then - not sure what kind of entertainment your looking for - so il just sugest a few dancing type thing - try Tandoori closes when evey1 goes home, shakatak is a club hots up around 12, both worth a visit for the experience - There also a reggie nite on a friday at Tropicarna, both locals & tourist go, very friendly place - more upbeat & modern is the Full moon club & none of the above are expensive for a night out - If need be ask any of the animators at your hotel to take you & they always escort you back so you are safe , no worries ha ha also on a sunday afternoon I can reccomend Kim 4 love, next to sea lodge, so you can walk on the beach & get a matatu, local bus back-live music & entertainment lots of the locals go - Hope this helps a little - But most of all relax, go with the flow & try things &you will have a fantastic time

Sunloungers aren't actually on the beach - but on the hotel grounds overlooking. The tide comes right in, and there are beach boys on the sand during the day.

oh I am a bit worried now as I tend to spend a couple of hours relaxing on the beach on my holiday! I am not a pool girl? Would this be a problem staying at Diani beach? Im not too bothered about getting a bit harrased by the beach boys.. I am very used to this from going to Egypt.. and Im sure myself and my boyfriend can be firm enough to give them the message! Just would love to sunbathe on that beautiful white beach and have a dip in the ocean..is this going to be suitable?

Its fine, you spend the time on a sun lounger, on the grassy stuff, on the hotel grounds right next to the beach...

You will love it there, we have just returned from a 2 week holiday with our 4 kids and had the time of our lives! There are plenty of sun beds overlooking the ocean, tip - give the pool attendant a few shillings and he will reserve you a sunbed for you for however long you want. We have a good friend called Edward who we met out there in october, if you want anythin e-mail me and i will pass his telephone number on to you, he will look after you and get you anything you want, trips etc. It will be a holiday of a lifetime, i wish i was back there!!!
