Is Margarita Island a good place to party???

Was thinking of visiting Margarita island during new years and christmas, I was wondering how the nightlife is?

I like a lot of partying and large packed clubs or an area with lots of bars and clubs.

How would it compare to other destinations like cancun or las vegas, I assume it wont be comparable but would there be a lot of people out partying during christmas week, and if we dont speak any spanish would that matter?

YES!

The difference with Cancun and Las Vegas is that the girls dress sexier and the clubs are smaller, and of course the music (more varied) and the prices (cheaper).

The beaches during the day are another party place as the rules are more relaxed in Margarita as compared to anywhere in the US or Canada.

“ Is Margarita Island a good place to party???''

You gotta be joking-its party central in Venezuela!!!!

During any holiday (especially new years, christmas and especially easter week) the island is one big party!!!!!!!!!!!!

During the day many of the beaches of Margarita are packed with partiers and at night the clubs are pumping!!!

For nighttime activity the clubs of Costa Azul and Pampatar are full of party aminals.

Check out the New Years party that happens every 31st ON the beach at Playa el Yaque-it rocks all night and the place is normally packed with partiers -live music, fireworks and lots of hot chicks!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would recommend that you book a night or two in el Yaque well ahead of time so as not to have to drive back to Porlamar or other points since it is a bit removed from the populacion center of Porlamar.

As I said-book well ahead as the hotels normally book full over Christmas and New Years due to the fact that it has become a very popular destination on Margarita-especially for the younger Caraqueño crowd.

Don`t worry about your lack of spanish-a lot of the younger crowd have some capacity of english and most will do all they can to accomodate you!!

You will have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A word of advice about air transportation and hotels-I see you are from Toronto so I assume you will fly direct into the island on CANJET or TRANST but if you are not you would be well advised to book your flights from Caracas and your hotel well in advance as the flights from CCS-PMV-CCS during holidays are normally booked out.

Ok so you think the best way is to book the flight and then the hotel separate?

Any recommendations on hotels? I am looking at the following as they come in package deals with flight and all of them are all inclusive except best western:

Best Western Margarita Dynasty (3) - - - - - - 1355 -

Lagunamar Resort & Casino (4) - - - - - - 1675 -

Le Flamboyant (3) - - - - - - 1565 -

Sunsol Isla Caribe (3+) - - - - - - 1569 -

Which of these would you recommend and also what is the best party hotel where we could stay all week? i just want to book one hotel?

And i am guessing during christmas and new years i wont have any trouble finding nightlife th anks for all the info!

I personally am not a fan of A.I. resorts but if that is what you are set on and want to be closer to the party than I may suggest Lagunamar since it is closer to Pampatar and is a quite large resort-the others are in Playa el Agua and it is further from Pampatar, Porlamar and the best nightclubs and malls.

You may want to ask one of the destination experts like mig-admin about Lagunamar or the other A.I.s.

By reading his posts he seems to have stayed at several of them.

Being that I live here I have not stayed at any of them-he would be your man-private message him.

The advice we give our guests here in Playa El Agua or all of Margarita for that matter is that in our experience up until 9 PM at night you will have no problems. If you are right across the street from your hotel - you will have no problems.

If you are a ways away from the hotel & it's later at night then just take a taxi back to the hotel. It's very cheap & prevents any problems.

More advice - Don't make yourself a target. Leave all your expensive jewelry, watches, etc. at home. You won't need them here in Margarita.

Only take with you what you will need for that day's expenses - leave everything else in your hotel safe - passports, extra money, credit cards, etc., etc.

Remember to bring US$ cash for exchange. Using credit or debit cards will cost you about 75% more than is necessary.

By following these few rules you will have a safe & happy holiday here in Margarita.

On New Year's Eve many of the restaurants on the beach have special menus & take advance reservations. Probably your hotel will have events planned as well.

so would you say Lagunamar would be a good location if we are looking to party? We are a group of guys that dont speak spanish just looking to party should we stick to Mexico or do you think we would be happy in Magarita Island, from what I read we should be more then satisfied? Sounds like the party is comparable to mexico so that is good enough for me? but any other advice on where to stay and what not please advise?

I read in the forums that there arent as many tourist going nowadays, so if we book how full do you think the hotels would be? I dont care if the other tourists are not from america or canada, id actually prefer that lol, but as long as the hotels are packed with people looking to party and have fun that would be good

There aren't as many international tourists as some flights have been lost due to the recent world economic problems, but the island is always packed high season with visitors from the mainland. Cancun for me is way too mainstream. You will have more fun in Margarita, and the women are hot hot hot!
