World equestrian games

We are coming next year for the world equestrian games held in and around Caen and are researching the best places to stay and thought by the beach would be a good option as won't be spending the whole time at the games , I believe courseulles sur mer is not far from Caen and wondered if it would be a good option as a base , we like to go to local restaurants and bars at night ?

Courseulles has plenty of restaurants.

Another base could be Bayeux.

We are also coming to the World Equestrian Games and have an option of a house swap in little village is named Roncheville, on the area of a greater one, Bavent. Apparently it is 25 minutes from Caen. Is that correct and would it be ok to driving into Caen from there?

I don't know about Roncheville but Bavent is located in the township of Cabourg which is part of the district of Caen, slightly east of Courseulles sur mer. There are less than 2,000 people living in Bavent and so I would imagine Roncheville to be more of a hamlet.

Cabourg is no distance from Caen and easy driving.
