A short break over new year 2013

Any ideas? Should we look at booking a package or go independant. 2 adults and 2 OAPS. Just fancy December 30th for 4 or 5 nights. I love skiing but am ok to give a miss. Have snowmobiled alot so not too bothered about that either. Just scenery and maybe a trip to norway would be nice

We want good food and drinks and a cosy cabin

Many thanks

Do your homework, check prices for scheduled flights and accommodation and compare them against the tour operators' package prices and you'll have your answer. If you book your (scheduled) flights early enough you may well get an economical deal. See e.g. http://www.saariselka.com for accommodation options.

If you only want to do "normal" activities in a touristic place like Saariselka there's probably no need to go through a TO. Tour operators add value when the destination or activities are out of the ordinary. .
