Where to go in The Gap

We are coming over to Barbados for part of our honeymoon in June this year - we are staying at Turtle Beach which I believe is quite close to The Gap.

Any recommendations for good bars/restaurants in The Gap?

Or anything else we should visit in the area?

Yes, Turtle Beach Resort is located at the southern end of St. Lawrence Gap.

Good bars and restaurants in the Gap include the one at Oceans 15, St. Lawrence Gap Steakhouse, Garden Terrace Restaurant at Southern Palms, Harlequin, Rush, Jobu's, Hal's Car Park Bar and Cafe Sol.

If you're looking to do a bit of clubbing, do visit Sugar Ultra Lounge.

Hope this helps

To add to the other reviews we have also eaten at Southern Palms; both their bar and a la carte menus are very good, The Steakhouse (opposite Southern Palms, Paulo Churrasco (Brazilian restaurant), Cafe Sol etc.

During the day we ate at some of the beach huts near the lifeguard station on Dover beach .... very cheap but excellent fresh food (flying fish, macaroni pie, jerk chicken)

The Gap Bar is very lively most nights and stays open until early hours of the morning. There is also another little bar amongst the Chattel Village called Pablo's (again opp SP hotel) - we went here a couple of times for karaoke. Ocean 15 has karaoke a couple of nights a week - almost opp Turtle Beach. They also have a nice but simple food menu and a really good little coffee bar.

Holetown has good restaurants and bars (1st and 2nd street) and you can get there by taxi but can take around 20-40 mins depending on traffic.

There's also plenty going on around Accra/Rockley and that's only a few minutes away.

This is really helpful, thanks guys - will do a bit of research on the places you mentioned!

One other question, i'm assuming it is quite safe to be walking from Turtle Beach to The Gap at night? - is there good street lighting?

CamJK.

There's a great little beach bar called Johnny Cools directly opposite Dover playing field that does really good fresh cooked food . If you look to the beach from the road , it's in the left hand corner . Also for higher end dining there's Pisces and Harlequin , both located in the gap .

As you walk up the Gap about 100 yards or so you will see Scotty's mini mart, immediately before that there is a short lane, if you walk towards Salt Ash apts go round the side and there is a great little beach bar.

It is known usually as Salt Ash bar if you ask around but it is actually called Tyrones bar by the sea.
