Getting to Sauve

What's the easiest way to get to Sauve from Montpellier Airport? We're travelling on a Friday and will be returning on a Sunday.

Thanks

I live about 20 minutes from Sauve.

The easiest way is by taxi. Sauve is about 50km from the airport and takes 1 hr.

Next easiest is to rent a car - this also prevents you being tied to Sauve, which is fairly quiet.

Buses generally run within departments - Montpellier is Herault, Sauve is Gard.

N.B. These rural bus services are restricted outside school terms and many do not run on Sundays.

Bus route 115 - herault-transport.fr/fiche_horaire/115.pdf - runs from a Montpellier tram station to Quissac where you would need a taxi (or bus D40) . Route 115 is not a frequent service and does not run Sundays.

Most reliable (but not easiest !) public transport is :

*airport shuttle to Montpellier

*tram to station

*train to Nimes

*bus D40 Nimes to Sauve - edgard-transport.fr/ftp/…AEmes......pdf

Check the bus times to see if the routes are possible.

Bon chance

Peter

I emailed three Montpellier taxi companies and, of the two that replied, only one gave an estimate. I've deleted the emails so I can't give the exact figure but I think it was around 115 Euros the one way on a Friday and 150 Euros for the journey back on the Sunday.

We ended up hiring a car as it was much cheaper. It took us about an hour and it was quite an easy route.
