We visited Kos last year and as Mathew has said go to the harbour, watch the boats coming in and see which ones you like the look of and sound out some of the people coming off. We picked the Three Isalnd Trip on the Katerina (independaet boat so fewer bus loads of tour parties) and we had a great time.

Have a great time

Over the years we have taken trips on the Archangel Michael, a lovely boat and once when the weather was suitable the captain cut the engines and we came back to Kos under sail, a lovely experience.

Is the boat trip quite calm or can it get choppy please?

Sorry, there's no way of answering this as it entirely depends on the weather on the day you decide to make the trip, and which of the different boat trips you decide to take. Some days it won't be choppy at all on any trip, others some trips may be affected and not others. Just depends on how strong the wind is and which direction it is blowing from. Suggest you ask the boat's skipper on the day.

Some of the boat tours for the three island trips can be quite big, we went on the Katerina and it was just the right size, and not too crammed with people. The crew were great, very lively and entertaining. Good value for money as well for EUR 25.00 for the whole day (10-6) including lunch (souvlaki and salad), traditional donut and watermelon. Would highly recommend!

The Katerina is a great day out, we did it early June, well recommend it. Got on at 9.30 a.m. and got back about 6 p.m. Visited 3 islands, saw dolphins, lovely lunch and lots of other treats. Greek dancing and lots of fab entertainment from Captain George and his crew.

I agree, we went 2 years ago, they limit the numbers so you all have a place big enough to lie on your towel. And it is a really great day. If someone had said to me beforehand that I would end up dressed as a pirate, 'fighting' with a plastic sword, I'd have said they were off their rocker!!
