Pahalgam definitely worth at least a night stay. I don't think there is any direct bus from Jammu to Pahalgam...

Overnight stay in Pahalgam is recommended. You could hire a cab for your travel. If you need a bus check with some reputed tour operators. Try the JKSRTC website as well.

There are special buses between Jammu and Pahalgam during Amarnath Yatra season. These buses originate from the bus stand near Jammu station. Most of the buses start by 7.30 am from there. The journey takes about 10 hrs. Shared vehicle is also available @Rs.600-700/person.

There is no impact of Uttarakhand disaster on Kashmir. Let your honeymoon plan as it is.

Be prepared to give Betaab Valley and Chandwari a slip on your trip to Pahalgam. Traffic is highly restricted due to Amarnath Yatra. Aru Valley is in another direction so that is not affected. The release traffic only for 2 odd hours for tourists 12-2pm, that too if the situation permits. I could not make it to Betaab Valley.
