Hi,

Just flew this airline last week as had to get back to Australia to help deal with a family crisis - flew "premium" class as I could get a ticket at a moment's notice.

I s'pose the most important thing is that the plane didn't seem to be falling to bits and that I felt quite safe. The main advantage of premium class is that there is a bit more space to curl up or stretch out for a snooze (the MFM - SYD leg is a red-eye special).

Pretty punctual.

Don't know what, if any, entertainment is available in economy class - at the front we had a big screen, just one movie shown.

Cabin not the cleanest.

Crew friendly, and all spoke English. No dedicated crew for the front cabin.

Food totally disgusting (we got for free what economy class had to pay for) - schools in Macau get better students' lunch catering for MOP2 per day, NOT subsidized. Prices outrageous - 10 times or more what you would pay on the ground in Macau for snacks and drinks.

MOP40 for economy passengers to use a blanket for the night.

Before checking in at MFM you have to go to the airline counter for a passport check. Then all baggage has to go through the scanner before you reach the check-in desk. If the people manning the scanner are taking a smoko you are expected to know to wait for them, or you will have to carry all your luggage back there again.

My own verdict is that I wouldn't mind travelling with them again, but will bring all my own food and a couple of good books or loaded iPod. If travelling economy, would also have my own eyeshade and blanket stashed in my cabin baggage.

Agree with Oisaan - it is totally no frills, so if I could get a regular airline for a competitive price I wouldn't fly No-frills - it grates having to pay extra for headset & very basic food on such a long flight. In Chch they have a cafe which provides really tasty take-away food (lebanese bread wraps etc) for Jetstar & Freedom flights, but I couldn't find anything like that at SYD.
