1.5days, 2 nights travel itenerary in Macau

Hi,

I would appreciate for some advice on the itenerary for Macau.

I will be arriving in HK at 5.45pm. I plan to directly take a ferry and stay in Macau.

This are the places I would like to go, can anyone help me to group them based on location, and time taken to visit these places:

Macau Tower

Historic Centre of Macao (incl St. Paul Cathedral ruins)

Largo Do Senado

Fisherman's Wharf

Churches (St. Dominic's and St. Francis)

The Venetian Resort, Casinos

Grand Lisboa

Taipa Houses

House of Dancing Water (show is at nights, 8pm)

MGM Grand Plaza

Fisherman's Wharf (theme park?)

After which, I will do a transfer ferry to HK in the afternoon/evening.

Kindly advise.

Thanks.

Why was Fisherman'ts Wharf listed twice? Skip both of them. ;) (There is only one.) Not worth visiting.

Where are you staying? Given your late arrival you won't make the HODW in time. (Next ferry is at 19:50). If you are staying on the Cotai Strip you can explore the Venetian in the evening, but not the Taipa Houses.

Next morning do the Heritage centre & continue on to MGM and if time, the Macau Tower.

Hello rachelMC

>>>>>Historic Centre of Macao (incl St. Paul Cathedral ruins)

Largo Do Senado<<<<

You'll need to pick and choose which of the World Heritage and other attractions are of most interest. There are just over 30 inclusions to the Historic Center of Macau World Heritage collection and another 5-6 other interesting attractions nearby. It takes a couple of days to see these comfortably. I'd suggestion finding one or two sections of the following World Heritage list and focusing your time there. See link.

Macau World Heritage

tripadvisor.com/GoListDetail-i33082-Macau_Wo…

The most popular areas of visitation are section D (Senado Square) and then section C (area around the Ruins of St. Paul)

Also, a St. Francis Xavier church is down in Coloane which is not close to any other attractions you've listed. I would suggest visiting St. Lawrence and/or St. Joseph (section E of the World Heritage list above) if you want more nice cathedral visits.

Taipa Houses are nice but they are also not very close to your other attractions, found on a small lake in the Taipa Village. This is walking distance from the Venetian (15-18 minutes).

Hope this is helpful.

Sorry... forgot to add.... I think you should skip Fisherman's Wharf. This is a white elephant investment project that went wrong. Its a bit of a sad place to visit, like a theme park where most of the shops are out of business (or never opened in the first place). The grounds are relatively attractive but its eerily devoid of businesses (and visitors) mostly - not really worth your precious little time in Macau. If you had 3-4 days, then I'd consider visiting but not with only 1.5 days and so many other nice attractions to see. See review (w/pictures) if helpful.
