4 day visit in May is final - thanks TA! - some queries

Hello again

Thanks TA forum, my earlier post about my brother's Macau trip has helped us to finalize the trip.

Arr Wed May 01 and check in at Venetian for 3 nights. Check out Sat May 04 to take ferry to Kowloon. Due to other constraints, we are unable to avoid the May01 labour day arrival - will just have to face up the crowds. Some queries:

1. Since the family is here during this busy time - any tips will help - to use the time well.

2. Wed half day = relax in hotel. Thu Macau tour - incl Maau Tower etc and some of the other attractions mentioned in the forum post. Fri = Venetian - IceWorld, HODW, etc. Sat - take ferry around noon.

3. Earlier post mentions that children under 6 are not recommended / allowed for HODW. Can somebody comment / confirm? The website does not mention this directly.

Any other tips - especially about Venetian itself and child friendly activities within the resort will be welcome.

Thx again - the tip about Venetian 1 for 1 offer helped us to get a great deal indeed ! I think my brother is paying under HK$ 4K for 3N stay.

To be completely honest, other than the ferry terminals, the Venetian Hotel grounds (10am-6pm) and the area between Senado Square to the Ruins of St. Paul, between the hours of 10.30am to 4.30pm, we don't find Macau busy and crowded at all, especially compared to many areas in Hong Kong. There are lots of places to find open space and to get away from people.

Even during the public holidays, if you visit the main areas in the morning period or later afternoon, once all the daytrippers have left, you will surprised to find a peaceful and pleasant Macau. In fact, we often to go to Macau during holidays to escape the crowds of HK. Will most likely be there on 1 May, like you.

Very sorry to inform you that the Venetian Ice World exhibition took place during the summers of 2011 and 2012 and is no longer available to be seen at the Venetian. See link.

http://www.venetianmacao.com/iceworld/

Keep an eye on their entertainment page to see what exhibitions they will have available during the period of your visit. Here is the link.

Also, watch the What's On (online) publication that comes up at the beginning of each month to see what events, exhibitions and shows will be available during the time of your visit. See link.

Please see Oisaan's very good description of child-friendly attractions and things to do in her post (4.) to your original question thread.

Soom good thoughts about the age restrictions at HoDW on the following thread.

I'm particularly a fan of the Giant Panda Pavilion, MOP10 to spend time with two lovely pandas in their enclosure. Suggest going in the morning, we've had better luck with them during morning visits, they've been more active. See link (w/pictures) if helpful.

Your kids might even like to spend time on a beach! Macau's nicest beach is at Cheok Van, on Coloane Island, just past the Panda Pavilion.
