One night stay in Macau- which hotel?

We, couple of guys are visiting macau for one night. We shall be reaching around 5 PM, Saturday, and leaving the next evening for a 8 PM flight out of HK. Which hotel should we pick and in which area so that we can get to all the attractions fast and quick? We do not intend to gamble.

Any 2 to 4 star hotel which is value for money would do.

I was looking at Sintra. I guess the Royal Macau is a bit out?

Thanks. I rechecked again and the prices of the Hard Rock package are still way too high than Sintra + ticket to show. I guess that is because I got Sintra at a discounted rate.

Can you please let me know as to how much time it will take us to reach Macau from Hong Kong? Our meeting is at the JW Mariott at HK.

Hello Nur H,

Welcome to the Macau forum,

When you say the attraction places... are you referring to the World Heritage attractions, museums and historic areas of Macau or are you referring to the hotel/casinos? Also, your budget will greatly influence responses to your question. Are you looking for a nicer hotel or budget hotel?

Hello there,

I'm referring to the historical places + shopping malls + food area, cuz I'm not sure how do I travel around macau.

Say the hotel is far, then it may incur our expenses.

Budget wise, I would prefer a 3-4 star hotel. Not like a 5 star, i think it is kinda expensive.

Taxi - inexpensive, Macau is small.

Bus - if you don't mind waiting for the buses and are confident you know where to alight.

Hotel shuttle - free, but only from point to point, usually from piers/airport to hotels.

Hello Nur H,

I would suggest having a look at Sintra Hotel, as mentioned previously in this thread. We've had a nice stay here and it is well within walking distance of the main World Heritage attractions, good museums and the one proper shopping mall called the New Yaohan, in Macau. Lots of street shopping east of the historic center starting on Rua. do Domingos. Have a look if useful.
