need help for a 4D3N trip to Macau + Zhuhai

Dear experts,

I've read some of your kind advices to fellow travellers. Could you guys help me with my trip too?

I'll be travelling with my aunties and uncles, total 7 people and will be staying in Metropark, which is in Macau mainland.

1st day

- will reach macau airport at 3.10pm.emailed the hotel to ask for transportation but no reply yet( 3 dyas already). thus, i'm looking for ways (easy ways) to get all my relatives safely and efficiently to the hotel. i think taxi is the best option here but is worried that we need to split into 2 cars and also worried about being "hacked" (pricewise). any advice?

-afterwhich, i guess it will be 4pm++ when we finally settled down in the hotel. i'm not sure is there any thing to look look see see and eat eat near Metropark...?or maybe we should just walk to a nearby casino to spend the rest of the day?

2nd day

- planning to cab to Zhuhai. any idea how long is the car ride or estimation of the cab fee?

-i heard we can just start some cheap shopping near the custom area. was planning a 4-5 hours shopping time there. so by the time we get back to macau, it should be in the evening.

- perhaps we'll go to 三盏灯 to walk around.

3rd day

-half day at 大三巴

-half day at casino.

4th day

-have to check in at 1.40pm. so i think morning is just yum cha plus abit last min shopping?

thats what i have in mind. not too adventurous because my fellow travel mates are all 55-63 years old. looking for suggestions to good eating places, preferably chinese food.

thank you!

You won't have any problem being ripped off with cabs in Macau. They are licensed and honest. It wouldn't cost more than about 50MoP from the airport I think. I have seen large taxis in Macau but assume you have to pre-book them.

It takes about 15-20 minutes to the Portas de Cerco but can take an hour to cross the border, depending on the time of day. Shops generally don't open until 11am in Zhuhai.

As noted, Macau taxis and drivers are all licenced and use meters, and someone at the airport should be able to help you call a maxicab if there isn't one at the rank just outside arrivals. If all your companions can climb the steps onto a bus, then the AP1 service that runs from the airport has a stop just by the Metropark / Holiday Inn. This service also has a large luggage rack.

Depending on how much energy everyone has after check-in at the hotel, the Wynn is in easy, level walking distance, so you could go there for the fountain and Prosperity Tree shows. The Sao Francisco Garden is also quite close. There are plenty of places to eat around the hotel - it is safe to explore the pedestrian alleys in between buildings - there are some excellent "no name" local places - just look for the crowds! Or for egg tarts and other goodies, Metropark is about 15 minutes walk from Margaret's.

2nd day - the market area around Three Lamps has closed down by 7pm (although some very good cheap restaurants - Thai, Burmese, Vietnamese) will still be open. You might want to explore this area before going to Zhuhai, as shops here open a couple of hours earlier.

4th day - food is even more of a passion for Macau Chinese than for other Chinese - if you ask your hotel desk staff for recommendations I am sure they will have excellent ideas. My own favorite yumcha place is Ka Nin Va - sorry this computer doesn't write Chinese; I will use my laptop later to give the correct characters.

Here's the restaurant name in Chinese:嘉年華. It's up between Three Lamps and the Kwun Iam temple, behind the McDonalds on Av. Horta e Costa.
