Hi, you could try Hotel Ko Wah;in fact, there is a query posting, and I replied with a contact number;so you could call them.

It is located in a convenient location-walking distance to Senado Square. And they even have rooms to accommodate 4 persons.

One of our country man,in his blog-motormouth,also stayed here. Here is the link to this blog:-

As you read, well he paid MOP550.00 for a room which accommodated all four of them.

Hi, if you are checking out motormouth blog, please take note, where he mentioned the bus fare and bus number that he took to reach "San Ma Lo",the bus fare has increased and in Macau, the buses operates on a flat fare.

IF taking from Taipa to Macau Peninsula,it is MOP4.20,whereas if taking within Macau Peninsula,it is MOP3.20,and from Taipa to Coloane,it is MOP3.60.

The bus number that he took to San Ma Lo,is from the Macau ferry terminal;so you can also do the same.

Otherwise take a taxi, which will costs around MOP40-MOP50 including surcharge for luggages.

Hi, if you are coming on any of the nights Sunday thru Thursday, you can get excellent bargains for hotels; Friday and Saturday much more expensive. Check out macau.com ; orientaltravel.com and wotif.com are also reliable.

You can check the comparative positions of hotels on the interactive map in the ezone of cn.macautourism.gov.mo .

Hi,

Sintra gives a very good bang for your buck (again, just like oisaan mentioned... try to avoid weekends)

Hotel Sintra: www.hotelsintra.com

Olé London Hotel has been recently renovated, so it's quite good (also location wise) at around MOP 400 midweek (via www.macau.com

Another option you may want to consider is the Macau Metropole Hotel: It enjoys a great location (not the other two don't...) but offers very little in the way of splurge... www.mctshmi.com/metropole/english/index.html

Hi,Oct is quite right to be classified as their peak season;as there is the China National Day,which is public holidays like for one week, and is also Macau and HK's National Day,and also Mid Autumn Festival and also Chung Yeung festival;and like you have enquired before, trade exhibitions in Oct.

So,usually black out dates for month of OCt.09 shall be OCt.01-04;and Oct.23-26,and of course weekends rates apply.

Woops, yes, October is peak season ... not only is a lot of stuff happening but it is also the beginning of the autumn season, which is the nicest weather for travelling in the region.

Depending on what happens economically during the first half of this year you could find either that demand remains as high as expected and so hotel rates will just get even higher towards the holiday season, or demand won't be as strong as expected and a month beforehand there will be bargains on all sides. Sorry my crystal ball isn't working that well, so my suggestion would be to make a tentative booking at a lower end place, then check back on macau.com in mid-September - if prices have remained stable at least you already have somewhere to stay, and if they've plummeted you can get yourself somewhere classier.
