Another first timer seeking advice. Help!

Hi guys and ladies,

Nature and beach lovers here! Listen I gotta decide but can't seem to focus on any one place in kefalonia. Where is best beachwise and mountain and sea all together in 1 place if poss ? Give me your answers and why please..

My head's reeling already.

We are a couple ( in our late 40's and early 50's). Trying to decide which of all the beaches would be best for the turtles? Also good value authentic waterside greek tavernas... food markets accomodations, things to do and see;most scenic areas...yes yes we know its all lovely, but which and where is best for laid back quiet stunning scemery unspoiled by tacky commercialism?

If you only had 1 week where and how would you settle for? Decisions decisions!

We love little hidden gems too, with genuine authentic greek communities villages, etc not too far from the nicest sea what areas are best to stay in? Can anyone with local inside knowledge assist us at all please?

Where are the nicest places in terms of unspoiled most beautiful beaches be found? And will all the beaches be very crowded in height of summer? peace quiet scenery etc? we are great Beach lovers but also fond of genuine old, authentic greek community/experiences.

What and where are the Best home fresh fish tavernas reasonably priced and preferably by waters edge near the best beaches be? archologiacal sites best honest and most compettative good boat car/bike hire ? And Seeking advice on the best places to visit this wonderful island. So many many questions. sorry guys.

Lastly We will be on a budget, sort of- don't wanna sound mean but dont wanna be ripped off too much either and the thing is we shall only have 1 week or 9 days at most in Auguast next summer.

Can you tell how green I am? We love fantastic views mountains beaches equally- so any chance of "all 3" in one place?!? Do let me know.

Basically the whole caboodle... quiet unspoiled beaches and a basic base for just 2 people somewhere romantic clean nice accomodation with air con and ideally a swimming pool, but modest priced? Do they exist? Modest priced area views warm hospitality friendly locals and great food places and near the best beaches are most important for us please.

My husband and I are planning to visit kefalonia with either Ketaelia Assos or fiskardo as a sort of leaning towards for next auguast. (flexible dates) How busy how hot will it get? Traffic locked? but as we only have a week I feel my head reeling all ready at the choices ahead so I'm hoping a true greecian with inside knowlede of kefalonia within half an hour or so drive from airport would be great. Can anyone possibly help me out! I know I've added about a million questions. But I need common sense and good old fashioned reality checks before we part with our well earned money.

Many thanks in advance.

Myrto does not have a visitors washing machine to my knowledge but Kiki the owner is very helpful.

Hi Chrissie

I have often travelled independently to Skala in Kefalonia and stayed at the Sunrise taverna on Spithi beach. If you google it - Sunrise studios Scala, Kefalonia - they do have a website. It is in a perfect location right on the beach - but this is not self-catering just basic authentic rooms. Victor, Fotini and family always give us a wonderful welcome. I am unsure as to the washing machine but if you emailed them they would be able to advise you. However I will stress this is basic accomodation with no frills just a fab view and location. I think we paid about 55 euros in high season each night and as we are a family of four we had 2 rooms - however I am not sure of the current cost. Hope this helps possibly.

Hi, we're going to Kefalonia end of June, staying in Trapazeki. Have already booked our flights from Easyjet at a cost of £380 for both of us (from Gatwick). This includes xl seats and 20k of luggage each. We did get in very early so prices may have risen slightly. Hope you find something suitable for your budget.
