Dreams la romana questions

Hi, If anyone could help it would really appreciated. We have just booked to go to this resort in november for 2 weeks and can't wait. It is our 1st time to DR Just wondered if anyone knew what the weather is like in november? Is there a lot of rain? Also is there anywhere to walk to or will we be limited to staying within the resort? Is it safe etc? And finally we really want to book to go to saona island but is it cheaper to book once there rather than through thomsons? Anything else anyone could advise would be really appreciated. Thanks

Just decided after 7 nights we would have some extra pillows, usually a pillow menu is for upgrades, but not here, very prompt also.

Hi, Who have you booked with? Are you booking from the UK? If it's TUI/First Choice do make sure exactly what type of accommodation you are getting, particularly if you haven't gone for any type of upgrade. We went there at Xmas and paid a lot of money for a room described as having a walk-in shower and flat screen TV and all the pictures on the First Choice website and in their brochure show rooms that appear to be lovely. We booked on the basis of all the information that we saw. However, our room wasn't much better than a Travel Lodge and the roof leaked when it rained and flooded the floor. It seems there are some 'standard' rooms that you won't find on any of the websites, including the resort's own website, and these are far short of anything you will find in any of the pictures. I do hope you get a nice room because everything else about the resort was pretty good. BTW we are still in dispute with TUI/First Choice who wouldn't even acknowledge our complaint until we reported them to the Advertising Standards Authority who have made them change the descriptions in their brochure.

The weather will be there and thst's really all you can be sure of. So no worries, but do buy some type of travel insurance when traveling that time of year, very inexpensive as compared to a lost vacation.

You can walk the beach to for shopping or drinks and dancing, 10 min stroll and you can also take a $1pp bus to Dominicus from Bayahibe.

For a Saona Island or Catalina Island excursion book through Seavis Tours or Pro Excursions, two top notch outfits located in Bayahibe. See my post in this link and check their sites. You can choose from motorboats which are fun or the Quetzal, a gorgeous 70 ft cat that PE has. Much better than the options through Amstar, Gri Gri, and other TA services.

And the standard rrooms in bldgs 2 and 4 are very nice!

Have a great trip!

Sorry sml1985, that should have read you can walk the beach to Bayahibe, an easy 10 minute stroll.

And many rooms have been renovated with the walk in shower, etc, ours still had a tub and large vanity and lots of space for storage and we loved it. So just request bldg 2 or 4 depending on whether you want to be near the activities in 4 or over by the infinity pool in 2. For even more quiet bldg 1 is a little further away but all are a short walk from one another.

Do enjoy the beach and watch the boats come and go from Bayahibe, and enjoy one of the daysail excursions to Saona or Catalina. Seavis and Pro Excursions are both excellent outfits and great friends. Both class acts. You can book now with either and cancel the day of if you need to, no payment until you get there.
