First Time to La Romana

Just boked Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus for February.

We always go to Punta Cana but decided to try a differnt part of the DR.

I just have a few questions, please?

1 - how close are we from the airport to the resort, landing in La Romana

2- Is this a big resort, should we request a specific building, we want to be close to the beach.

3 - Did we make a good choice (hotel wise) I know that the Iberostars are good hotels.

4- How's the weather in February?

Thanks for your time!

1) Landing in la Romana, you are 20 minutes away from Iberosttar Hacienda Dominicus

2)Its not a huge resort like most of resorts in Punta cana. Its size its perfect: not too big, not too small.

Most of people preffer building number four cause iots the closest to teh beach and has the best views, but the truth is that bulding numbber 7 is just as good, and much closer to everything including restaurants, so there is less walking around involved.

3) its a great choice. On tripadvisor is rated as the best in the Bayahibe-La Romana area.

I personally preffer Dreams now, as ist has many more amenites and thins to offer, but you made a great choice.

4) weather in februery is perfect. An average 27 degrees celcius, and practically non humidity whatsoever. The sea is at its calmest on this time of the year, it the dry season so you dont have to worry much about rain.

Also...... the sunsent at this time of the year are simply gourgeous in thsi area, and you have a 5 star front seat at the lighthouse-bar at the beach of your Hotel!!!!

4)

Thank you...you just made me even more excited about my trip!

Dreams was on the list but was more $$, so we went for our 2nd choice...maybe next time!

What town is closest to the resort and can you walk to it?

You will be 2 minute beach walk from Dominicus, more of a touristy village and 5 minute drive from Bayahibe, where you can interact more with the locals.

Happy travel

One more question...

I noticed that the in room safe has a fee, does anyone know what the hotel charges for the safe?

Seems silly that they would charge to use a safe.

Thanks!

Hi beachs

We were at this resort last October. At that time they were charging $2 per day for the room safe. Whilst their we were allocated a room in block 4. Our room had partial beach view, but we could also see all the activities that were taking part in the very large swimming pool.

We have visited the Dominican Republic on 5 previous occasions, but apart from last October we have always stayed at the ICD on the North side. The weather in February is fantastic lots of hot hot sun.

Just one piece of advice for you, when you are returning home please remember to pack all of your charges/adaptors for your phones, camera's, VCR etc in your suitcase that is going into the hold of the aircraft. If you pack any of these into your hand/cabin luggage they will be confiscated by Security at the airport.

When we stayed in October last year we had a nice holiday, apart from all the rain. You should not have any problems with rain in February.

We are also due to return to the DR in February 2012, however we are going back to the ICD for our 4th time.

Regards

Roy
